Maybe being optimistic, but I don't see the board offering it to the likes of Keane/Kennedy this time round, I do think Nicholson will bring somebody decent in.

Worst realistic choice is probably Muscat, who would still do a good job, but I really hope we go for someone like Knutsen or Miguel Sanchez.

Are we resigned to losing Ange?

Everything I’ve seen suggests he is going and he will walk away a proper Celtic legend despite the fact we expected him to be here for longer.

None of the names in the frame to replace him fill me with excitement. In fact they fill me with dread.

We need to appoint someone quickly but that doesn’t mean an easy appointment.

Absolutely gutted if he goes. He embodies everything we want / need in a manager. MON is my favourite ever manager but Ange is right up there with him.

What I will say is that Ange wasn't mentioned at all when we were looking to replace Lennon until he was practically offered the job so maybe another surprise this time.

Though I fear the board will panic and try and get Moyes or someone:(

It's going to be tough, let's be real.

Ange is a bit of an anomaly in terms of his coaching ability, playing style and charisma.
In my eyes he's a really special manager and a special man. I think we got exceptionally lucky with him.

To replace those things, in a way which will excite us, is going to be a humongous challenge.

We should go with someone who wants to play a style semi-related to what we currently play, a move which would be maybe unprecedented in our history.

Wonder if the club will ask Postecoglou's input on his replacement, from the perspective of continuity. Yokohama did, they took his recommendation and they won the league. Kennedy?

Aye. It's a tough one no doubt. His football is incredibly effective in the game here. 143 goals and 3 defeats, 2 of which came when we downed tools is mental. He's set such a high bar it's going to be difficult for the next guy to follow.

We rarely dropped daft points away to diddy teams either. Even in games we struggled there was a confidence that we would turn it around and win. Next guy has big shoes to fill. Please * don't give us a manager than struggles to break a low block

Knutsen is the ONLY choice imo.

There's quite literally no one else out there that excites in comparison to Ange.

My major fear at this point is that DD will try to shoehorn Lennedy in there. We'll get fed alot if bollocks about how he's been "training" under various managers for this post all his life and blah blah. I will literally * BOKE if that clown is given the job.
My feelings on him have been pretty well documented.
But it's important to understand that ANY new manager will be told of the "Kennedy Clause". Which now looks like it extends to the "Kennedy/ Strachan Clause".
No new manager will be allowed to bring a full staff with them , a la Eddie Howe.

So in that regard, it has to be a manager, in the mould of Ange, who will view this appointment as an unmistakable opportunity, and thus be willing to more or less go it alone.

I think the club will want to go with someone in the same mould as Ange. A left-field choice, attacking modern football, etc. What he's been doing has been working, so it makes sense to try and replicate it.

If they can't get that, they'll go for a Tim. Rodgers, Brown or Keane, something like that. Because they're one of us and we'll always cut them some slack when things are getting up and running.

I think the main challenges is the squad Ange is leaving behind being his squad. Like, what is the next manager going to do with the army of Japanese lads he signed, do they start heading for the door? What about CCV and Jota, have they bought into our club or just Ange?

I'm sure they will and his reply would be Kevin Muscat. Plays the same style as Ange and has been succesful in both Australia and Japan. Apparently he's very good tactically. Wouldn't be the end of the world

An exciting, hungry young manager for me. Carlos Corberan would be my first choice especially as we know he can utilise another managers squad and get results quickly and he has the passion to win players over. Also Carrick worth a look.

anyone think DD could convince Nagelsmann to join us?

i'd rather avoid EPL based managers like Moyes, Potter and Marsch

and I certainly dont wanna see lennon for a 3rd time.

Kennedy is just a * no, saw enough of that during his covid run, he won 3 out of 8 league matches and 4 out of 10 matches overall, * that.

Really no clue who we could get, just know who i dont want.
