Rodger's Celtic were the first team Pep's Man City didn't beat, in any competition. He got us into the groups with an awful side in his first year. If rumours of a 4 year deal are true that's suggests a huge commitment from the board, which we need to see. We can't take the cheap option this time round.

Yeah mate.. only 2 or 3 max you'd listen to over there. Another claiming he's been working on the backroom team for a few days.

No he wouldn't of been my first choice but look if it means getting all that Ange was promised and more I can deal with it.

If DD has promised all that and he signs it's a massive step towards modernising our club.

I can deffo see the assurances being true from Desmond. No way would he go this all out and then give him less than Ange was promised..

I think it's possibly taken more to swing it..

We've clearly known Ange was away by the way and I reckon we've had the rat on speed dial for at least a few weeks..

Don't be surprised if he's announced this week that some big signings follow imminently..

This is the kind of thing I've had a gut feeling has been going on at the club, and why I've been happy to let the board work away at interviewing different potential managers without worrying too much about who they go with.

The fact that it's someone as professional as Rodgers that looks to be getting it, is absolutely superb. Equally as important is that Lawwell senior is no longer the main man. As well as he done over the years, he was in the role far too long and could not possibly have taken us any further.

Nicholson and Mark Lawwell working with Rodgers is a * exciting prospect tbh, but even if it falls through with BR there are big things happening in the background. Absolutely buzzing for a bit of clarity now and to get cracking!

Absolutely.. I don't even think we need to spend loads this summer to kick on.. Add 3 or 4 quality signings.....

Actually wait... I'm putting the champagne on ice till its done..

McGregor is an admirer of Rodgers. After we win the quadruple treble he gave an interview in which he priased Rodgers and said that he should be forgiven.

I'd say McGregor is likely making it known to the board that Rodgers is the one he'd most like.

IF (a big if) we plan to start to take Europe seriously- that would be the most important decision made since Seville happened. I doubt Rodgers is tactically flexible enough to get results that see us survive in Europe past winter, but an attitude to try and make something happen would be positive.

Been taking a look at The Dark Side..they generally prefer Rodgers to Ange, think it's weird he's coming back, reckon he'll jump fast, and aren't that bothered about his return..highlighting the same issues a lot of us have been saying. Well...only time will tell.

I don't think people's concern should be Rodgers' record in Europe. We didn't do well in Europe under Ange and honestly I don't think this year would have been any different.

The issue for me is twofold. 1) He made some poor signings, 2) he played safe, boring football. Like I don't want to see us go from blitzkrieg football to building out from the back possession * against Motherwell at home. No problem with pragmatism in Europe but I'd prefer to see us play like Ange's side and ship a few goals domestically than play like Rodgers side and barely concede a goal. It's not a Celtic mentality he sets up with.

There has to be promises on the likes of transfers, budget etc.

But you know Celtic will also have assurances on Brendan leaving when the inevitable offer comes in from England.

Rodgers building on Ange's success, could be quite an exciting prospect, I think..:fear: :56:

They do make a few good points, some of which I agree with tbf, as I'm not really into BR coming back but rock n roll, it is what it is...

I'll go wash my mouth out now... feeling dirty lol
