The realisation that we're all in here arguing whether Rodgers or Maresca should be the new manager is so * depressing.

I'm away to get hammered and torture my neighbors cat with a laser pen.

Yes but domestic dominance is our bread and butter. I am happy to keep winning leagues at the expense of European runs if it means we obliterate that mob once and for all...

He’s one of 3 assistants yes and I agree he’s a risk but I don’t think we should be taking on a manager just because he could convince some to stay. Rodgers was great at improving players but all great managers should be.

He’s the safe option, Knutsen would continue our domestic success as easily as well. Iraola is a bit more of a risk but his football is exciting and it would suit the team we have.

Put it this way, if ANYONE is given the job ahead of Rodgers, you can be certain they have come in with an extremely convincing vision of what they want to implement at the club.

We're actually in such a great position imo, we either get a proven guy in Rodgers, who will have come to a good understanding with the club to get it over the line, or we get another target who has convinced the board they can do even better than Rodgers.

He won every domestic trophy he entered whilst manager here, and would have won two more had he finished the season off.

One of your points was that Rodgers was slamming our transfer policy. Given he was identifying players and was then getting targets well down the list it seems, I can see why he was having a go. He fell out with Lawwell. Not exactly a difficult thing to do. Lennon left originally because the board not backing him. Deila wasn’t backed either. This board had previous.

You said Steven Gerrard pulled his pants down. In what way did he pull his pants down. We were miles ahead in the league and they were out the Scottish Cup.

I’m not comparing the FA Cup to the CL. I’m highlighting how ridiculous your point is about belittling him managing Leicester to an FA Cup because his keeper had a great game. Forster had a great game against Barca, Marshall against Barca if we go further back, Boruc saving Saha’s penalty etc etc. Should we downplay our victories in these games because our keeper had a great game? That’s essentially what you are saying about Leicester winning the FA Cup. Oh and by the way, Tielemans got MOTM, not Schmeichel.

The mess he left here you say? What, miles ahead in the league, a league cup in the bag, and in the quarter final of the Scottish Cup. Aye, what a disaster.

It’s not facts. It’s a hypothetical scenario you have concocted in your head.

Noted. I'd argue that we shouldn't just be looking at Maresca because he's assistant to Pep and is rated highlt as a coach. You're taking a big risk there on that transferring into him having the personality and presence to be a good manager. I think as a club we could do better at this stage in time.

Iraola is the big standout in terms of relative inexperience/young coach. I'd also have Faraoli before Maresca.

Would be funny if when Rodgers comes back he pretends he has amnesia and can't remember anything about his first spell here.

The team he left behind also allowed Lennon to build and go and do relatively well in Europe the next season with some new signings added.

It wasnt an insane side by any means but Lennon left behind a bigger mess for Ange.

Rodgers has said publicly many times a pivotal reason for him leaving was that he wasn't backed so you'd hope if he is returning he's been promised something.

Rodgers is a good manager that would undoubtedly win the league again but i’d be * my pants coming into the champions league with him at the helm.

Theres a reason Ajax where after Knutsen but if they couldn’t lure him then it doesn’t give us much hope but i hope we offer him everything we can.

Just rhymed off the same lines he put out last time. When questioned on the previous spell just stare blankly and then change the subject.

The thing for me is the fact the main names being Rodgers and Maresca is worrying. There’s nothing saying Knutsen had ruled himself out and Iraola is someone we should be seriously considering ahead of Maresca in the least.

I’m hoping the media is being fed * and kept in the dark so they are just guessing.

As much as Rodgers might be successful, I just can’t get away from the fact that he’s an *.
If these reports are true then I think its a mistake to bring him back.

Still get 1.55 on exchanges if you think Rodgers is a good thing.

If Rodgers falled out with the hierarchy and players disliked him, do you honestly think that the same hierarchy would jump on a private jet to spain to try to get him back? Nonsense. And he absolutely dominated the huns and Steven Gerrard btw.

The players have spoken highly of him. Our and others. Our captain is one of them. Casper Schmeichel called him the best manager he ever had even though he sold him off.

I personally can't * wait to see what a manager of his calibre can do with this current squad. He did not have half the squad to work with last time he was here.
