Not at senior level but he was in charge of the U23 Man City side before going to Parma and did well with them.

JK won't be in the conversation for the Celtic job, not a chance.

He shouldn’t be considered. He needs to go and enjoy what this Tottenham job brings, then get a manager job, say at 1 or 2 clubs then he may be ready for us.

If we're getting a new manager/head coach. Let's do that and let him employ who he wants.

Sick of the nepotism and cronyism this club reverts to at times.

Aye tbh was only said in jest. I've been a supporter of JK but if he wants to go we shouldn't be blocking him. The next logical step for him is a mangers job and if he isn't getting that here he needs to look elsewhere but I do think he'll be a big loss.

Battling two English teams ran so badly over recent years that they’ve went from Europe to relegation for a manager.

The Lawwell days are truly back.

I don't think Kennedy has knocked it back I think the club are playing hard ball over compensation. By all accounts he wants to go.

So we are actually seriously going to give the job to a guy who isn't a manager.

Ffs Celtic. We will never learn

JK has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to justify the tone that he should be shoved out the door and chased to clear a spot for a new guys replacement. He's been an absolutely BRILLIANT servant to the club, loyal and committed. If he WANTS to go then fair play to him, and I wish him the best. If he is in any way keen to stay I'd give him most anything he wants (barring the actual managers job) because he's earned that respect.

Totally agree with you, that in my mind it's the right time for him to move IF he wants to become a full manager in his own right. But if he wants to stay in coaching I'd keep him onboard

    Who can blame the board?

It’s a great vanity project for them and incredibly cheap, plus they didn’t have to search for any other manager.

And, best of all, they know they’ll get away with it - you’ve already got folk on here saying ‘if the board think he’s the best option, it’ll do for me!’

Pretty sure this is exactly how it is. And Kennedy being a club man won't cause a fuss because he already knows we'll release him once the numbers are crunched and formalities over with

Surely maresca is just lazy journalism though?

Two years ago I was all for it, promising talent, modern approach, city project etc.

But to be frank, Rodgers and Ange have proven we can get better, experienced, winning managers.

Not saying maresca is crap or good, but it's a risk and we aren't surely needing to take that risk?

UCL football, able to offer a young progressive squad, a relatively large budget, we should be having plenty of managers interested, if not applying, at least would be willing to talk with us if approached.

    Maresca feels like lazy journalism.
Iraola feels too good to be true.
Rodgers feels like a "look, we didn't take the easy option, we thought about the fans"
And eventually we will end up with someone random as *.

Taking a needless risk on a guy who has managed 12-14 games and won TWO is disgraceful.

We shouldn't ever be an option to someone who is trying to cut their teeth in management.

From a position of strength, possibly the strongest we've been in years, and we maybe about to hire a guy that flopped in his only managerial position that he held for FOUR months. Laziness from Desmond to assume that he'd be a good applicant and would manage the pressures that Celtic bring.

If Maresca has offers from England surely he'll stay in the league he knows, having helped set up against what 16 of the same teams.

Plus, more money in his pocket and more spending money.

The carrot we could dangle is silverware and 6 games in Europe, but he'd be playing against the top teams in England anyway.

If Ange * off from us to Spurs, highly doubt Maresca would do the opposite to join us.

There's no tone. Just an opinion, like many others have said he shouldn't get his 1st managers job at Celtic. Nor should anyone. But in absolutely no way should he just be kept on for the sake of service given. You may be undermining the new manager by keeping him on. But that's his call. If he wants to stay then no bother with that. But again the new guy may want him gone.

There's a point if JK has any aspirations of becoming a manager, then he will need to spread his wings and go further afield to do this. Being at Spurs and all that comes with it is another step towards that. Also, if wants to go. Let him go. No point keeping anyone who doesn't want to be here. And rinse Spurs whilst we can for this pleasure.

Celtic as a club have been equally as good for JK as he's been for us. Times will come, where there's a natural parting of the ways. I feel its now.

The cronyism/nepotism of the club is there to see also. And it's embedded deep in the top members. It's one of the things that's stops us growing and becoming a top modern club.
