He never lost the dressing room because McGregor and Kennedy were loyal to him

What you describe of Hodgson is poor man management not good man management so I'm not sure why you have used that example.

What McKenna describes in his interview is good man management.

Brown seemed loyal to Lennon. Didn't stop that dressing room blowing up

That's probably the crux of it we have different understandings of what man management is. Ultimately though that Ange is an excellent manager isn't in doubt. We were lucky to have him for the two years he was here.

I don't what part of Tam crying in the dug out lead people to the conclusions that he had been trying to get out of the club for 3 years or the fact that he left with no plans or club lined up saying he needed to take time out.

Is there a source for Ange talking him into staying on a year. I know Ange said he "just got a sense" that Tam was ready to move on and told him to make his last year a good one. But I don't know that he said he talked him into staying on for an extra year.

To say Ange doesn’t have great man management skills is ridiculous. You don’t have to be best mates with the players, nor should you.

The fact that players will play through the pain barrier and run through brick walls for him is evidence enough to suggest his man management skills are excellent.

Unrelated from Ange and who will replace him for a second

    Quick grammar lesson

Lose - to fail to win, gain, or obtain. lose a prize. lose a contest. I.e James Tavernier only knows how to Lose

Loose - not tightly drawn or stretched, opposite of tight. I.e Yer maw has a loose *.

I popped in to a Bodo Glimt forum to see what they were saying about the Celtic links, and interestingly there was some chat about Knutsen already being on an EPL manager level salary due to an arrangement where he receives 15-20% of any transfer fees for players sold.

No idea of it's true or not and there seemed to be a bit of debate over it, but could be one of the reasons he hasn't seemed in any great rush to move on from there.

It's not ridiculous when players who were actually coached by him have said it.

You can be the worst man manager in the world and players will still want to run through walls for you. Or alternatively you can be the best man manager in the world and best friends with every player and they still won't run through walls for you on the pitch. That's about leadership which is a different thing altogether.
