Knutsen apparently in talks with Ajax.

Knutsen confirms he wouldn’t before the season ends.

Are there actually in credible sources for these stories? Haven’t seen any yet. Not denying them tbf just wondering.

We have Nicholson and Lawwell jnr in to have their say in it as well now though..

It was basically Desmond and Peter Lawwell only before. We've been running a lot more professionally the last couple of years. The fact Kennedy didn't get offered it in the showers and we look to be on to a whole host of quality coaches tells us that..

I'm sure he doesn't want to, doesn't mean he won't.

As we've learned with our past two EPL bound managers, this game is ruthless.
    We should be equally ruthless.

Toss Bodo a few million, give a big pay rise and a signing bonus and promise him transfer control. In addition, the added caveat of him being allowed to pick his own staff will be highly attractive.

We should be as an attractive an option to him as Spurs were to Ange.
If we want him enough, we CAN get him.

The only sticking point I see is security. He's a loyal guy by all accounts, and unlikely to walk out on Bodo for DD's one year rolling contract pish.

Agree, and ye can imagine what people would say about him, just making the point that if he happened to leave them for us we would be delighted but at the same time hes doing something we hate to see in a manager(no loyalty).

Im just saying if he left them mid season just because we came calling then its not much different to the rat or Ange(to a certain degree)and their departure left a sour taste for obvious reasons.

Dont get me wrong id have no issues meself but a lot of people on here were not happy with the rat and Ange for the way they left us and subsequently questioned their character and the type of persons they were and yet it seems theres no issue with this lad doing the same thing albeit with a different team.

Got Ipswich promoted from League 1 and went on a 19 game unbeaten run.

Would be less risky than Maresca, but would still prefer we look elsewhere.

Enzo Maresca remains a major contender to replace Ange Postecoglou at Celtic - but Ipswich’s Kieran McKenna could also come into the equation

The Celtic hierarchy have now ramped up their search after their treble-winning boss made the move to Tottenham Hotspur yesterday. Assistant coaches John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan look set to join the Australian at Spurs. It is set to leave the Scottish champions with a major void to fill. They are currently considering options and taking applications.

Record Sport revealed yesterday that the Manchester City assistant coach Maresca was on the radar of the Parkhead board. English Championship new boys Leicester City are also keen on Maresca and could provide competition to any Celtic move. Spanish sources have confirmed that the 43-year-old, though, is keen to step back into frontline management. Nothing official is likely to happen before Saturday’s Champions League final between Manchester City and Inter Milan. The Celtic board are looking at a number of options and one of them is Ipswich boss McKenna.

The 37-year-old has just led Ipswich to promotion to the English Championship. The former Manchester United coach’s teams play in a similar style to Postecoglou.

McKenna has previously coached at the academies of Tottenham and United before he moved to the Old Trafford first-team. He took charge of Ipswich back in 2021.

Former Chelsea and Brighton boss Graham Potter has also been linked with the vacant position as has Bodo Glimt boss Kjetil Knutsen. Dutch giants Ajax want to speak to Knutsen and so far have been unable to nail down talks and there doubts Celtic would end up in a similar situation.

He has already impressed playing against the Hoops in Europe. Brendan Rodgers had initially been the early favourite but a Parkhead return looks increasingly unlikely, but not impossible.

McKenna was massively rated at Spurs and United.

Never seen anything of his team but could see why a lot of people are interested in him. 46 game season in League 1 but 98 points and over 100 goals in his first job is some going.

Maresca is a no from me. As much as Ange was a left field appointment, he had vast experience managing at club and international level and won trophies everywhere he went.

Maresa would be a massive gamble. One that we don’t need to take.

Knutsen is one that I’m warming too. As well as having experience in Europe and winning silverware domestically, he has a clear style and (similar to Ange) will have a clear idea of which players he could bring with him.

Rodgers is probably a safe bet. The only thing he would need to do better this time around is recruitment. If he could nail recruitment like Ange has then he would be my appointment.

I dont want someone from English lower leagues. They'll shop in that market and whilst it's worked in the past, the fees and wages are getting ridiculous.

If McKenna was an option I doubt very much he’d be given free reign with transfers. Especially with Lawwell jr in with the City group links.

Also ajax are in a 4 team league with feyenoord, psv, alkmaar all looking good recently so a lot more of a challenge to look good. Whereas he can come here, win a treble and finish bottom in Europe and still get a leicester or spurs potentially.

hoping it’s him as what he’s done at bodo is incredible. The players he had who have left his system/style of play have gone on to do nothing really but got good money for each so he is proven to get the most out of average players
