When you quote a post go over the words you want to highlight with
    the left click held down.
Then click on the B top left of the quote box.:50:

    go on try it.

Peter Lawell is an administrator. Him and the rest of the board are the current custodians of our club. They have a clear strategy that has led us to the top of Scottish football (by a considerable margin) and we have some money in the bank.
We have been punching above our financial weight in Europe and have experienced some great nights at Paradise.
Some years we make a profit (usually by selling players), other years we make a loss so seems very wise to ensure that we can cope with the losses.

I would agree that the board have a very corporate feel about them but that is probably the price of having business professionals running our club.

Is that right, then what about them * winning the league with very weak teams.

I wonder how you can put not supporting Deila and not buying Fletcher in back to back sentences . I am sure if you didn't want your anti Lawwell bias get in the way, you would remember that WGS wanted Ched Evans signed from Man City and felt right up to the penultimate day that Celtic were signing Evans firstly as a purchase and then as a loan . At the last minute Celtic tried to buy Fletcher but his club refused Celtic , saying Fletcher was not Celtic's first choice.
I just wonder how many more years will the Fletcher rubbish be used to try to damage Lawwell good work .
I am not really surprised that Celtic didn't spend money at all earlier in this transfer window . Deila not having a notion about the ability of the squad he had inherited obviously had to spend time checking the strengths and weaknesses of the entire squad .
I myself am not sure that if it was my money , that I would want Deila to spend it , at this stage I would want more time before I would risk my money .
Maybe by Christmas time I would be happy to invest it in the team .
Remember Belfast, Celtic is a football club, not an old eatery on the Falls Road .
The restaurant can close down one week and open up again two weeks later under a new owner and people will still eat in it . Celtic must continue playing week in week out, sure nobody has ever heard of a team going into Liquidation and still playing .

In a much stronger position, in all probability.

He is the single biggest obstacle between Celtic and progression in my opinion.

Instrumental in implementing mediocrity as standard in almost every area of the club - management, coaching, scouting, youth development.

Of course there is more to a chief executive's job and living within our means is imperative. However balancing the books and success on the park must go hand-in-hand; all too often he places greater importance on the former, to the detriment of the latter.

All while picking up one of that tastiest wages - in CEO terms - in UK football.

In the Champions League. Nah seriously don't know but we should be further ahead of the rest than we currently are and I assume he's at least partly to blame.

Some wage & bonus rises there. Every other area has been downsized, while his wage has rocketed. Strange.

Been saying the same thing for a while. He's the one area of our club that operates on a Premiership wage level while telling anyone who will listen that we can't compete with wages down south. You'll still find plenty saying he's worth every penny and more though,
