How did that leave the standings?

When was the Hun defeat to Killie?

Penultimate weekend, hun defeat to Killie was the Saturday, then we drew the Sunday (I think)

Left us 1 point ahead (I think)

I remember being told that the referee in charge of the Hun game was retiring and that he wanted his last game to be at Ibrox. So with it being 0-0 at 90 he added on 6 minutes of injury time obviously hoping it would give the Huns a chance to score, but it backfired when Killie hit them on the break and won the game LOL

nah it was 3 for a win mate, we where 2 points ahead but their goal difference was better than ours so we had to win against Saints on the final day if they won, anything else gave them the title!

Am I right in saying that the first derby of the season was postponed because of the death of Princess Diana? And that this postponement was actually at the behest of the Huns - being Her Majesty's loyal subjects and all that.

I remember reading on a Hun forum that their failure to do the 10 could be attributed solely to this postponement. LOL

They claimed they were in good form going into that game (with Negri on fire) whereas we had a fairly indifferent start to the season - with Jansen still trying to get his idea across - and that had the game gone ahead they'd have won.

Of course we'll never actually know. But we drew the rearranged fixture despite trailing for most of the game. Think Stubbs scored a late-minute equaliser.

It is of course a joyous irony that their pure uber Royalist sycophancy cost them what would have been a truly historic achievement.

I remember the week before it, rangers where playing killmarnock and my da was listening to it on the car Radio at the bottom of our garden. Last Min goal and the fella on the radio saying "dramatic sceens at ibrox, Alley has just scored. He went * white thinking that was it, they where getting the 10. Only for the fella to next say Ally mitchel has scored for killmarnock! He leap about our street in ladbrook drive like a * kangaroo. I was boncing about the living room like one too. No joke, he grabbed me, up the stairs and got our celic stuff, few clothes into the bag, in the car and straight to the boat to get to scotland for us stooping the 10 if we beat dunfermline the next day (think it was them) He phoned over and tried to sort us tickets but there was no hope. while driving over, the * car exhaust feel off. Driving to Glasgow in a box escort that sounded like a * motor bike lol. He wouldnt stop to get it fixed because all he wanted was to get to glasgow. Ended up at Celtic park watching it on the big screen. Think there was 20k of us there that day. If i remember correctly, simon donnelly scored but dunfermline spoiled the party by making it 1-1 :(

Back home to belfast in depression thinking we'd * it. We knew all we needed was a win next week but still thought wed lost it and them * might just get over the line.

Back to Glasgow the next week with no tickets, me, my da and my wee sis. No * handing over their tickets for us poor * to get in but understandable . Ended up getting hold of my das mates stewarts jacket, and my da walked us 3 in the side gate lol. What a day that was, one day i will never forget as long as i live. Grown men crying when the final whistle went. Was one of the first on the pitch that day and got to kiss the trophy running along side Tom Boyd. (some * has it on tape from ardoyne with me grabbing the trophy but still havent seen it) That night, ended up in the gallowgate with my da and his mates and what a night that was. * steaming i was.

Always brings a smile to my face when i watch anything to do with that day or see old pics.

Cant wait to be there for the 10 with my own kids. Itll be up there with watching my kids being born!

I was supposed to go to that game only for her to die and the game to be postponed but ended up going to the liverpool game in the uefa cup instead. Think that was the year before thou.

The biggest shock for me on that day was not henke's cracker (which fizzed into the net right in front of me) or harold braatbaak actually scoring....but after full time and when the side were celebrating...

I turned to my oul one and said ," daddy, whose that woman talking on the microphone?"

    "Son thats Alan Stubbs..."

    * me he had a high voice lol
