We paid £6M for Chris Sutton who never hit 30 goals a season for us, only once managed over 20 in five seasons, played four games against St. Johnstone and scored once.

Are you going to try telling us that he was 'muck' too?

Never criticised the guy but just want to say im happy he got his goals. A good team player which is good for Skippy and Sammi who are natural goal scorers but he missed a few easy chances and is sometimes sloppy on the ball, by no means the finished article but just very happy people wont be pressuring him so much now and he has a bit more freedom about his game in the coming matches.

no im not bud, not lookin for a fight or anything, but im talkin about fortune not sutton. sutton played all over the pitch for us at times, centre back an all. he was an all rounder. had money on fortune to score against st johstone, fully expected him to score against them, coz there them. i said to myself when he scored his first on saturday thered be someone on here askin , where his critics now? just sayin , im still here. fair enough if he masterminded a win against arsenal a few days back, but just sayin its st johnstone man, not to get carried away.

I'm getting no more carried away than you are willing to give the guy a chance. You branded him 'muck' remember?

As above, Sutton scored once against them in four games, John Hartson played against them twice and failed to score.

I would suggest that your criteria for judging players requires a reality check.

Fair play. However I think you'll struggle to find a 'good' CL standard striker in his prime for £4M

I think the main gripe I and others are having with the section of the support that want to write him off is that we should be giving him time, booing players after a handful of games is not the Celtic way.

So I guess the answer to this thread is a resounding "still here"...?

No, we tend to wait until they win 3 league titles and become one of the most succesful Celtic managers in modern history...then boo him.

with the exeption of the home leg against dynamo moscow and his sub appearance against arsenal, i think he looks quite decent. in competetive games that is.

Happy for him that he got off the mark with two against St Johnstone. Why's everyone now saying, och it was only St Johnstone he scored against and they're the shitest team in the league. The guy can only score against the teams that are put in front of him and in my opinion i don't think St Johnstone are the worst team in the SPL. Falkirk and Hamilton are worse, St Johnstone play some decent football. You could also put Hearts in with Falkirk and Hamilton after that performance yesterday. :47:

The guy signed for celtic and celtic play in the spl so who the * did people think he would be scoring his goals against if not the teams in the spl...????
It not like we are going to be playing in the cl final for * sake.
We get a few games in europe each year and thats it our bread and butter is the spl sadly.
No two goals against st johnstone dont make him a world beater, two goals against the huns will make him a legend.:31:
