I used to try and spit on the cat where it would lie beneath my room window.

Golden Time was at 2 at my school :D

Used to play football at Lunch and the janny would cheat for the other class.
Everyone would fight over who got to go in goals at football.
When new people came to the school and everyone tried to get picked to 'show them around'

    When i was wee....

I had a massive poster of Marcelo Salas (used to play for Chile) up on my wall. * knows why but i always liked him.

David Hopkin was my favourite Scotland player and Jonathan Gould was my favourite Celtic player. Again * knows why. I was a strange kid.

And i used to be addicted to this game.

Sat for hours upon hours upon hours playing this game. Used to sign Kluivert on a free at the start of every game

    you'd
have the holy ones , the glitter ones , big giant Angles ,
    you'd
need to fold there wings to fit in your scrap tin , then
    you'd
do swaps with your pals , when you got bored with that , there was American ropes ..ask your young 40 yrs old wife about that

    Sweeties & Ginger

    4 x MoJo's for a ha'penny.
McCowan's Penny Dainties that could only be broken against a lamp-post or the edge of the pavement.
    Aztec chocolate bars
Tizer when it was more popular than Irn Bru....true!
Cadbury's Flakes that were as big as your heid and only cost 6d.
Corona ginger that was sold off the back of the ginger lorry.

    Games

Playing fitba' in the street, sometimes 20 a side, with goal posts from lamp post to wall on diagonal sides of street.
Playing fitba' in the back coort, marking out the pitch with the heel of your only shoes, in the dirt.
Never going back in the hoose from when you get home from school 'til your maw came out shoutin' for ye, usually about 10pm on a summer's night.
Playing headie kicks in the close.
Playing marbles or "jorries" on the street drain covers.
Playing tennis, for 2 weeks a year, in the back coort, with anything that resembled a tennis racquet. I once played with a chip basket!!!

The other end of the 34 bus route......Govan.

Coincidentally, I was in my sister's house in 365 Castlemilk Road, just beyond the terminus....and the children's home, when we won the big cup in '67.

Mojos were 2 for a penny.

Chocolate bars really were bigger. A few years ago the first episode of Naked Video on DVD came free with one of the papers, there's a sketch where Elaine C. Smith takes a bite out of a king size Mars bar and it was almost the same width as her mouth. Now they have those skinny-arsed Mars Duos..:54:

Alpine was about 22p for a 1 and a quarter litre bottle and if you took back an empty you got 3p off. Their red cola was lovely...:icon_mrgreen:
