My wife did make me one when I was in my mid to late 20s with Celtic and the like on it. Not sure what you're at here. :smiley-laughing002:

I would like to go to California though.

That's my point though. I'm in my 30s.. Not 40s, 50s. I'm definitely not middle age. Why do these people in the UK think 30s is middle aged?

Because we used to die in our 60's. Hence the middle part.
Middle age now is 40-45 i'd say as the average age of death is nearer 80 (79.5).

I have a grandmother who is 87. If I come anywhere close to her age, then the middle of that number for me would be somewhere around 43. It just seems 35 is way premature to be middle age. I am there already. I have no kids. Sure I have a lot of health problems, but those were injuries, not due to normal ageing. Mentally I still feel young. Obviously people were dying sooner in those days (like in the 1970s, 80s) because of the lack of advancements we have in medicine today.

I'm 55 in September and I don't feel old :celt_2: I think Middle age covers from 40 to 65 these days as I know folks who're older than that who remain in great shape and still enjoy life. I think life is a lot different for us in comparison to our parents. I pay attention to eating well and keeping fit . I'm still vain enough to care what I look like :52: and while I don't consider myself to be any oil painting I wont ever stop trying to improve what I have :celt_2: or my lifestyle. I know folks a lot younger who seem older and worn down who no longer really take much interest in themselves. I suppose what it all boils down to is how you feel yourself and age is but a number.

Incidentally my mums 87 has dementia and can barely walk. My dads cousin is the same age, fit as a fiddle and still drives a car. He goes to ballroom dancing as well :56:

    50.

I honestly don't consider anyone under that middle aged.

    Great stuff.

My grandmother is in her late 80s and still dates! She still gets out and goes on holidays and to nice restaurants on the town etc.

If people are so active in their mid-late 80s I cant see myself as middle aged at 35.

Middle-age is when the phone rings on Saturday night and you hope it's not for you
