Yep, I agree mate. I have a load of Jam and Weller demos on my desktop at home. Got nothing on the work laptop tho, they won't allow it.

All Mod Cons is simply in a different league aint it :icon_mrgreen:

Weller's idea of a concept album and not a bad attempt to be honest. A couple of misses but overall a first rate album mate. Good choice.

For me, everything about that Album is perfect, one of the best Track 1 Side 1s ever, the mix of of songs for a new wave album was amazing and the album artwork is great. I used to spend hours looking at the inner sleeve montage.

Don't want you hurting too much mate but I'm old enough to have seen them a few times, plus The Style Council and Weller solo about 8 times.

The Jam at The Apollo were * immense :50:

What's amazing about Mod Cons is the fact Weller went home to write it. I mean he literally moved back in with his parents after being in London for 2 years and suffering writers block and was getting * from Polydor as his first efforts for the album were rank, so he buggered off back to Woking and hammered out most of Mod Cons while listening to old Who, Beatles and Kinks records in his bedroom.

The artwork is a patchwork of all the things he was influenced by while growing up. It's just a timeless piece of classic modern British song writing!
