Much more effective as a sub. If managers know he's going to be playing from the start of the match then they are obviously going to have tactics ready to make sure he in ineffective during the match, compare this to him coming on in the 70th minute and running at tired defences......what would you choose.

That has been my thoughts as well after seening him playing all these games, is he going to learn by his mistakes or just go down the same path as Mcgreedy

He was horrendous yesterday, very selfish with the ball and when he did pass his passes went miles astray. Drop him until he gets his form back.

Tbh im a bit peeved at some of the comments iv read. Im not going to lie i like Paddy because i feel he plays football in a way that excites me. When he goes on a run i expect to see magic and sometimes i do. Football is entertainment, he provides it in bucketloads. He tries to do it himself too much but we wouldnt have been treated to any of his wonderous goals if he doesnt try. I wonder if what people were saying when he scored any of his wonder goals, "That was a great goal but he should have passed it". Also some of the bullshit comments about him doing no wrong because he's Irish is as i say complete and utter bullshit covered in a thick concentrated layer of bullshit. Get behind a player who has shown us some of the best individual skill of the season, a few times actually.

Who else has played better all round? Kayal, thats it! If you watch the games it is paddy who takes the ball when no one else wants it. The fact that he has the ball the most out ofmour players means that he will prob lose it more than other players and make more bad passes.

Who else would we play? Who except Kayal has played better in the midfield? Some of his passes have been poor. Some of them have been sublime. He could do with releasing to a team mate a bit quicker and playing in Emilio a bit more, no doubt. But for me he is still one of the best we have and he needs to play.

    Paddy enigma ?

I agree, and yes Izzy is good going forward but has Paddy the sharpness to stop and cover him ? It took Aiden years to figure that rule out. Too many games someone said !! A wind up I presume ! But he will come good in all areas I believe.

to everyone that has the "ohh wonder what you would have said if he scored a wondergoal" pish. I think everybody on here loves paddy dont get me wrong hes superbly talented and gets peoples bums off there seats when he makes a run into the box. But really its not acceptable to be playing like what he did the other night, lost the ball so many times and really only made 1 good pass on the night. im sure he'll comeback and do what he does best :86:..

Watching Paddy over the last few weeks i have noticed this.

Gets it on the left, then tries to take on everybody. Will ALWAYS try and go on his right side. The defenders just double up on him, and he cant do much. Even when he goes to the bye-line on his left, he will always try and come back on his right side.

Needs to get his head up and look for a man, rather than try and do it all himself

yeah i agree with this he is not a 90 mins not cause of his fitness he will try things when he should pass the ball

people only seen him do great coming off the bench and i think he is only good for that, when other players are fit am sure he will be back on the bench

good impact player but not starting 11 in my book, 1 good game in say 5 or 6 is just like players we have had in the past

would like to see some other players get the chance that paddy has had with a run in the team

mate paddy has good skill but he has only played a few games for us ffs you are making out he is sort of * *

he can run at players aye but thats about it his passing most of the time is pish when he should pass he runs and * it up

am not saying he has not got the talent but he is a street player as they call it would be fantastic as a 5 a side player still not 100% he will get a game when other players are fit

McCourt had an average game on Saturday, along with Brown and McGinn...only Kayal (that tackle aside) got pass marks.....and there lies the problem, if there is limited movement around him Paddy will ned get the space to go on a run (cause lets face it he aint springting past anyone) also lack of movements means plays, ie those mentioned above are not making the runs into space that only Paddy can pick out....team were static in the later part of the first half and all of the second...hence Paddy didn't get an opportunity to do what he does best....he did still try, did still track backa nd did still cover for Izzy.....
Summary: poor performance but no worse than those around him, for me still starts the next game.

He was brought on as an impact player alot of times and he did make an impact. Now alot of people think that if he doesnt score a goal by beating 3/4 players then he is doing pish? He is still a huge part of our squad and adds alot to the team. He tries a bit too much like the way McGeady did and all he has to do is pass the ball more because he is not going to do the same wondergoal everytime he gets the ball.

"just because he isn't taking it by 5 players and scoring every game means he's playing *?"

Why to people continue to spout such pish like above?
Don't they realise it's the same people who have noticed Paddy's VERY limited ability as a pro footballer that are now voicing their opinions more - now that there is sufficiant proof that he's not even nearly as good as people claim he is.

Sure he's exciting and has obvious ability to take it by a player but beyond that he's not got much to his game at all

give him a break. he's starting to become a better team player and has improved his all round game. you can't expect him to score a wonder goal every game! and also defenses are starting to figure him out now, and are hanging back instead of lunging in for a challenge.
