Lennys playing him in the wrong position. He is not a playmaker, he is the type of player that gets the ball at the edge of the box and runs with it taking it by 4 or 5 players. Play him behind the striker! Not out wide.

he's not good enough. It's as simple as that, tbh.
his passing is poor his vision is pish poor his crossing is non excistant because he wants to do everything himself.

Paddy McCourt is one of the few reasons I still follow football. No joke.

Paddy has a lot to offer but he's not playing in the school playground, Lenny has to get it thru to him it's a team game, the wonder goals will come, sometimes he just tries to hard and should concentrate on doing the simple things.

genuinely suprised you knew that after that massive post where you clearly mixed him up with messi. there's no aspect of his game that's any better than niall mcginn's apart from the odd great goal.

That's the weakest argument against McCourt I've read, 'because he's Irish'.

    Very good post.

First of all, McGeady was never a one trick pony for us and his tracking back improved a lot under Strachan.

Paddy can cross and does track back. He's not a speed demon but he's got very quick feet and he's anything but predictable. A merited started. Could maybe do with a rest but I'd have him starting most weeks.

super Paddy, the Derry Pele. is in total cruse control every week, and maloney will not regain his position from him unless, he has an injury, and too bad, if you dont like him, hes here because Neil, wants him there, and also that 75% of the faith full. want him on the park.

was thinking around the same lines meself, think he's probably trying too hard if anything, also adapting to a full 90 minutes instead of 10-20 here and there was always gonna take time, yes we would all love him to score a wondergoal every game but thats fantasy, hes the most talented player in the SPL by a country mile its just finding a way to utilise that talent is the next step now he is fitter than ever

Too many blinkered fans with Paddy, actually watch what he does rather than worship the guy! He gave the ball away over and over yesterday, made the wrong decisions most of the time and just wants to score his wonder goals. He has made some great passes over the last few months, he seems to think he is Xavi now and can make these passes whenever he wants, keep it simple paddy! If a team mate is in a better position, taking on 3 - 4 players is not the best choice!

Some fans will see no wrong in his performances, i have been fed up with him for a while now and have voiced this a few times, nice to see there are getting to be more people noticing apart from his dribbling (and the occasional pass) he doesnt offer the team too much.

The points about him tracking back, he ignored izzy again and made his obvious run inside and gave the ball away again so he chased back as he had to! HE had given the ball away AGAIN, ignored a team mate in a better position who was now out of position and Aberdeen were breaking, did anyone watch him after he chased back, blowing out his *!

He is a supersub, talented but not fit enough to play a full game. Once Maloney is back he will be back on the bench and he can go back to terrorising tired defences when we are struggling. He hasn't given us much since he started and i do not care about his wonder goals, i dont expect one every game, i want 100% effort and a team player, paddy is an individual. But again, some fans will never see anything wrong with Paddy, have no idea why that might be though...

In a way I am glad he has had a run because now I can assess him a lot better. I am actually dissapointed in him. I thought he had more vision and game intelligence than has transpired to be the case. He doesnt look up and is very greedy at times. He actually has been shades of McGready recently. Overall he has been average at best when he has started recently. He plays like Maloney when Shaun is having a quiet day. He is not bad but for me he lacks things and iI would consider him as bench backup for Maloney or Forrest. I see no problem with that because he is great coming off the bench for half an hour against a tired defense.

What happened is that with every player that actually plays football, mccourt has 2-3 players round him everytime he has the ball. In saying that he should use the ball better.

Brilliantly put together Ando, you are rite McCourt has undoubtable talent, but he is wasting it all by his own sheer greed, he wants to be the star of the team, so he better undersand quickly, that a team consists of 11 players, no just one individual. In all honesty, I don't think we are getting a good deal out of Paddy, I dont rate him anything other than a reserve player, he is just a step up from McGinn, who I also dont rate good enough to be a Celtic player, ........ Get a grip wee man, before its too late, the Celtic fans love you, you supposedly love Celtic, you have a special talent, utilise it to its highest point, share it with your team mates, go on Paddy, please prove me wrong

He's been disappointing the last few games to be honest. He's been tracking back well, getting into good positions and when he finally decides to pass - his passing hasn't been as good as we know it can be. He's been really frustrating lately because we know the ability is there, there's been players in much better positions and he just hasn't looked up.

Paddy has never had the same effect in a match as he has coming off the bench. I'm not just talking about scoring wonder-goals, I'm taking about contributing anything to the game and making an impact. I'm not saying Paddy is definitely not a starter because he has impressed me a few times when he's started, I just think his form lately has been poor and he needs to improve.

I don't see Paddy getting a start on wed night, a return to the bench may actually help him.
