7-0 is hugely *, and it's dissapointing that the players downed tools for the last 30 or so minutes, and overall played with far too much respect/admiration for Barcelona. Would anyone be really THAT surprised if they were to put 3/4/5 past Man City or BM though? I wouldn't be, that's just the kind of level they operate at when on form. It's frustrating but they're that good. They rag-dolled us, they've done it to better teams than us before and will do so to better teams than us after.

I don't think it was respect, I think we generally tried to play them at their own game and got our arses handed to us.

    You cant.

Scottish football is to blame for those results too.

I think the poster supports a move to england as the answer.

If they can skelp Real Madrid 4-0 they can potentially score 7 against 90% of teams out there.

That front 3 is the most deadliest of all time the stats they have playing as a trio are insanely good.

Messi got his 6th UCL hat-trick it wasnt his first.

We knew how likely this result was way before the game, so i dont think we can take it apart too much, but there were a lot of failures from us

If they watched that game last night and dont know how good Barca really are, then maybe they should start watching a new sport because they simply dont get football

    Good post.

We stood off them way too much, gave them way too mcuh respect we werent in clicking at their heels and gave them way too much easy ball.

Thye pressed us to death and we stood off them.

I think Rogic could have helped us with his close control , holding it up and inviting fouls

Why wasn't their keeper sent off.
    That would have changed everything.

7-0 shouldn't just be shrugged off because of how good Barca are. We weren't good enough and there's no doubt in my mind we could have been set up and played a lot better than that.

Never expected us to get a result, but we made it so, so easy for them. We only made three fouls in the whole game for * sake.

It isn't but we've came a long way in a very short time and this was just too big a test too early for us. I have no doubt Rodgers is building towards better.

We made mistakes but I won't dwell on it too much.

I mean, what can you do. It is done. We just have to hope we can learn from an absolute toasting.

I think we have also learned that these arseholes that only post on this forum after poor results with their "told you so pish" have merely gone to ground since Lincoln Red Imps and are sadly still out there ready to hit us with their doom and gloom and perverted sense of enjoyment out of bad results.

Seems we need to do more than get rid of Deila to shake these annoying arseholes off.

    * them :87:

.....and it's not as if we are unique in getting outclassed by that team, if that result had of been at Ludogorets or Basel then ok I can see why folk would be tearing down the walls and all the negative talk about City will smash us home and away but so,me times even the most one dimensional and biased fan has to take their hat off to a team for their sheer ability and performance, last night was one of those and we won't be the only fans having to do the same in the coming weeks let alone season where Barca are concerned.

I hope we learn from it because I'd honestly rather we didn't qualify if we're going to just keep losing by cricket scores. It's not enjoyable to watch.

I think we will though and in fairness I can only see us improving from here on in. Dreading playing them again at CP though. :smiley-laughing002:

No chance of that happening. Barca are NOT THE BEST TEAM IN Europe currently

Think where we were last season, rock bottom of our EL group, getting skelped by nonentities.

You don't fix that in 12 weeks and 1 transfer window.

You can clearly see we are going in the right direction though, last night wont change that.

They could easily take 4 or 5 off City, or anyone else for that matter.

Aye, what we need to make sure is this pretty big speed bump doesn't turn into a full scale car crash.

    Inverness need skelped.

There is absolutely no point in qualifying for the champions league if we are going to get embarrassed like we did last night...

We need to invest heavily in the team buying players for £500,000 ie Gamboa and expect them to compete with the likes of Barcelona will always end up in heavy defeats...
