    Just cant get enough
No positives from this. The concern is how it will affect the momentum and positivity that we have built up since BR arrived.
We would obviously not have beaten Barca but the failure to strengthen the squad after scraping past beer sheva was a big mistake imo.

Predicted 6-1 so wasn't that surprised with the score line. They are on another planet, streets ahead of us.We'll fair better against City as we're more used to playing British style football and we'll Defo be getting stuck in in them games.

Not sure about the sweeper keeeper, the main job of a keeper is to stop goals. If he's not too good with his feet he can use hishands. Gordon isn't great but he's a better shot stopper than DeVries.

There's no point in playing wingers and wingbacks and leaving the midfield exposed.

We were * against Red Imps Hapoel and Barca in away games. We need to improve.

We shouldn't set up and play in a way we're not used to in tbe the. HOPE that our opponents will like it less

    Rogic needs to play

We can be embarrassed by the result if we want, or we can take it like adults and say fine, that's the gap between us and the best team in the world (when they are playing like the best team in the world).

Its a tough one to take, but it's got to be used to fuel the teams ambition to keep improving. This is what happens when you spend 3 seasons out of the champions league. Its not about how well we do against Barcelona, its about how much we improve over the course of 6 games. I expect we might get a similar hiding off City the way they are starting to find their feet, but i'm not concerned. So long as BR gets the time, space and funding to keep improving the team I'm happy to have CL football. We can only get better.

That's the point- they don't play British style football. They used to but don't now they have Pep at the helm - the same Pep who was the architect of the current Barca way of playing. He will watch last night over and over again, do his homework and send out his City boys. I fear a doin home and away from Pep's City. Oh please let me be wrong.

Apart from the above, what did we learn? Personally that what I and a few others were saying towards the end of the transfer window, has come true. Peter took the view "why spend money on players to finish at best 3rd and probably 4th in the group, when we can save pennies and finish 4th.". The upshot of that is we have gone into the CL Groups without either a "brains/conductor" in the middle or a proper DM - I'm assuming Bitton is supposed to be our DM.

To play someone who 4 weeks ago was playing in WBA reserves vs Peterborough and as WGS said last night " not very well" and to put him up against Neymar, was ridiculous. If BR was * bent on playing 5 at the back he could have stuck Lustig wide and played O'Connell in the middle. Don't understand that one.

Brendan can talk all he likes about experience, just as Ronny did, but unless you have the talent then experience is all you're going to get. We've got an abundance of talent for the SPFL - we could pick 2 teams from our squad and either would win the League - but when it comes to competing in Europe, both the CL and Europa, we are way short.

... that we aren't that good as we thought we were. Brendan has a lot of work still to do.

That a forward setup thats worth approximately half a BILLION pounds is going to get through our defence/keeper? That if that clicks they'll get about 7 goals?

Seriously l thought we played some nice football alongside Barca. Unfortunately, they're a team you need to play * awful football against if you wanna have any chance... needed a big, powerful midfield * in the team.

De Vries looks ropey, as did Gamboa a bit, but in fairness we did ask them to stand in front of a tsunami with their hands out, shouting 'Stop please!'.

On a positive, against a lot of european teams our display would've gotten us draws/wins. Upfront continue too look much better than we've seen in last few years for movement and pace. O'Connell looked good when he came on.

And above all else, we got to learn that we're back amongst the best teams in the world, and the players that come with them. Ok, we found it out in a painful way, but I'd rather be there doing our best and getting beaten than in the europa getting better results against lesser teams. Here's hoping that this was a fluke, one-off.

What a difference it makes, playing with self-belief and passion for the club rather than just turning up and hoping yer not part of a team that gets a pumping.

They weren't world beaters, but guys like Joe Ledley, Kris Commons and Charlie Mulgrew gave 100%. These players COMPETED against Barcelona and played for the passion of the club (the result and the performance from the 1-0 loss we had wi 10 men at Parkhead and the 2-1 loss from a last-minute Jordi Alba winner shows this)

THOSE players, played the Celtic way.

Last night, I only saw this from Scott Brown.

Sometimes in life you've just got to say `* me-did that really happen` and brush yourself down and get on with it. That was a hammering from one of the greatest teams/strikeforce of all times so hopefully the team will dust themselves down (laugh it off!?) and get back to league business at Inverness on sunday.

Your spot on, the £30 million for getting to the CL should guarantee us the league this year, next year and so on BUT we have no buying power compared to other leagues so 10 in a row has to be the goal and anything achieved in the CL is a bonus.:50:

All three of those players you mentioned played in the 6-1 drubbing the last time we played Barcelona.

What did we learn?? Not much. What happened last night was anticipated by many.

Biggest thing for the players and management is our technical ability on the ball and movement off the ball needs to improve vastly, if we're looking to compete with teams at this level.

Can't take away from Barcelona on how good they are but we have them far to much respect. Brown was the only one who didn't care who was on the ball if he was near he wanted the ball back and always looked to play the simple pass. There was too many players in there last night that were in awe of what they were up against. Ok we are not as good as barca but multiple times of us not making simple 5 yard passes is not good enough.
I didn't like the way we was just lumping it up field either I know Barcelona play a high pressing game but other than brown everyone look scared to be on the ball. De Vries is clearly not good enough he's played 3 games now and I thinks he's made 2 saves. When we got a result against Barcelona both times was when we had goalkeepers on top of their game and I worry that the two we have is not good enough to compete on this stage. Gamboa had a shocker but other than international football he's not had much game time and to judge him on a night like that could be a bit harsh but he's got a lot of making up to do in the next few matches of the CL. Gave them far to much respect and defensive organisation was very poor but unfortunately that just comes with experience and the only one with that experience is Kolo who I also thought had an ok game but he needs to lead and organise that defence a bit better in the future

just getting into the CL group stages is our main aim nothing more nothing less. but to keep getting there we will need to add to the squad every transfer window to keep up with European teams. But hey Barcelona humped Real Madrid 5-0 so we are in good company. Brendan is the man alright made great progress since he took over.HH

In that mood their are only a handful of teams in Europe that would have kept it below 4

The bare stats that someone put up about them last season testifies that and when most of their players come back with a rest as well then it's possibly the only time I've watched Celtic and not been upset or surprised by a walloping.

We learned nothing more than someone who has only just started taking an interest in football in the last few weeks but on the other hand we have to remember this is sport and you sometimes have to just bow down and heap praise on the opposition.

Inverness could well be getting the backlash from this at the weekend

Don't think a 5-4-1 will work for us, if we are going to play three central defenders then we need to play 5 across the midfield and two up front.

Think we would have been better off packing the midfield last night and sticking to a narrow back four.

    Ye missed my entire point.

Those 3 players played together against Barcelona at least 4 times
A win, the heavy loss and two unlucky losses which included a last-minute winners and diving cheating * like Neymar reducing us to 10 men.

The difference, and my point, was those players gave heart, passion and self-belief.

ANY team could get smashed like that by Barcelona, yes.
But at least show some self-belief that we are capable of getting something.

The self-belief, is WHY they managed to beat Barcelona.

I didn’t see self-belief last night, or, aside from Scott Brown, very much heart/passion whatsoever. I saw players hide.
