I'd rather i was raised as a child and been able to make the decision myself when i was old and wise enough to do so, it should be up to the individual, not the parents.

dont think its fair to make a child do things it has no clue about.

made my feelings on this known to my parents many times but they are old school and not very bright

Perhaps the options could have included 'practicing Cath/Prod' and 'cultural Cath/Prod' I am certain that close to 100% of huns would come under the latter.

I was a practicing Catholic till I got good at it and didn't need the practice any more. Lived my life ignoring all the nonsense about * before marriage, contraception etc. as perhaps 100% of Catholics do.

I have had my eyes opened these past few years though as to how religion is used as a management tool, to keep people subdued or to rile them up, and even all too often to divide and rule. Of course I'd read of Marx's quote about "religion being the opium of the people" but as a Catholic, understanding and taking it on board were two different things. It would have been disloyal, wouldn't it?

I have pressed 'other' because I am agnostic.

Was born and raised a Catholic but have nothing to do with religion now and haven't had for quite some time.

My kids, should I be fortunate enough to have them, will not have any religion foisted upon them, if I can help it. If they choose one, it's up to them.

I have developed a interest in Buddhism in the past few years, but purely for philosophical purposes.

Never christened or baptized, and am in no way religious (meaning I despise and would never follow a religion, but I do have beliefs).

    I was christened Catholic.

However, there are so many religions how does anybody know what is right? Plus, religion is the reason for so much war.

I simply can't be part of any religion as I don't think that anyone can be sure which is right and which is wrong.

pope (i think is benedict) said: if you would let your kid to grew up and choose religion.. why don't you leave him outside the door when he is a newborn and let him decide will he enter or not.. (it was something like this, i don't remember exact quotation)

i think that parents should make decisions which they consider to be best for their kids...

Science can guess as to how the world was created, but it cant tell us why it was created.

Sure it can. There is no why to the world. It is what it is. If we needed a why question who created * then and why? Who created the other planets and why?

The mind boggles when we start thinking about the reasons as to why the earth and the universe was created.

We dont know why, or if there is to be a reason?

Personally I think there is a *, it would be a massive coincidence if there wasnt.
