To be honest i agree, he hasnt got the best first touch however he is capable of having a good one when he knows what hes going to do, people are just blinded becuase its hooper, hes not all hes made out to be, hes been out of form for a while and currently stokes is our main striker not him

I agree that Gary Hooper hasn't been in top form for a wee while now, but please Lenny keep faith in Hoops, he is going to be a great player for us. He has become more pacy I think, he tries like a bear too, and he reminds me of big Sutton, the way he can hold an opponent off the ball, and the way, he can hit it on the turn. Good will come with our perseverance :50:

Just a bit rusty lads, once he shakes off pre-season, once he bangs a couple in and get match sharp am sure we will look in awe again! Besides the postive from it for me is people are starting to appreciate the work stokes puts in. Got two very good strikers here. No need to question their ability. Still think they would benefit from a big target man near them.

The goals will begin to flow, as long as he continues to be paired with Stokes.

He is far better when palying in a partnership with Stokes. If on his own or with Sammy he can be anonymous for 3/4s of a game.
You cant buy the kind of understanding him and Stokes have and can see them 2 battling it out for top scorer in the league.

I do think he is immune to criticism and apparently immune to being dropped. Seems harsh as soon as Stokes has an off day he is dropped but Hooper can go months and not a negative whisper in his direction. Had we played Stokes in more old firm games last season we could have been looking at incredible scorelines. Let's hope Lennon unleashes him against the scabby mob this season (up front)

During the 2010–11 season, Hooper had the best strike rate of any player in Britain, scoring 20 goals in 26 games with a strike rate of 0.77 goals per game. This was also the fourth best strike rate in Europe, behind Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Antonio Di Natale

It will come for him, he actually looks like he needs a goal.

It also has to be said though, Stokes has come back from the break much sharper than Hooper. Start of last season Hooper hit the ground running and fizzled out, hopefully this season he gets up to speed quickly and continues to the end of the season.

I've no worries whatsoever with Hooper. Sometimes strikers go through wee patches where they seem to dip, but he's shown to be quality in front of goal and will continue to improve imo.

Stokes for me has taken on the number one striker role at the moment.

Gary Hooper will find his form again, probably sooner rather than later. He proved last season that he has what it takes to score goals in the SPL so I have no worries about him scoring his fair share again this season.

Stokes wasn’t always good. Don’t you recall his “down” period with Sunderland?

The reality is many good strikers (including Wayne Rooney) have dips in form and Hooper is no different in that respect.
