What british city has given us the best music?

Lol, this thread has gone out of control.:icon_mrgreen: If I were say......Swedish and formed a band in Glasgow and started our * from there then we wouldn't be a Swedish band.

The only place for music in Britain is London and always has been since the 60s. So many bands Oasis included upped and moved down there. But that's not the point. Because London is the biggest City then of course there will be more musicians/songwriters brought up down there.

Oh aye, better take Cream out of London because Jack Bruce is Scottish

 

I'd say it is where the band members are actually from. If some band members are from say 30 miles outside of London but the band formed in London then i'd say thats ok to count as London. Also if most band members are from London but the lead was from some foreign country then i'd say thats probably ok to count as London.

Have to go with Manchester. The kind of music I listen to often stems from two cities: Manchester and Detroit (love a bit of techno).
