When MON wanted to get back into management, he had to go to Villa. Now I felt he was good enough to go to any of the clubs in England but nothing else was available.
Walter Smith left Rangers to go to Everton when he had a big name, so I feel that's all that will be available for WGS.
In saying that, WGS will not leave Celtic, why would he want to, he is Scottish, happy to be living in his own country and working for the best club in the country.
The Media have been peddling his removal for a while now , I wonder why?

No chance of him taking a lower EPL team. Hes been there and done that. True that the top 4 jobs are sewn up. He might be interested in teams in the 2nd top quarter of the EPL. Other than that, only some sort of foreign post in a decent team somewhere nice to live might temp him- say a team like Deportivo, Nantes, Oviedo or the like. No offers like that and I think he will stay put. Even if he loses the league some time, he is entitled ro some slack after years of success and punting him would not happen under any circumstances within the next 2 years IMO. He will only leave voluntarily.

The only other possibility is if he got fed up with little financial backing. We all know we would be a far better team if we could go out and buy 3 or 4 quallity players in the right positions but unless the club are willing to give him about 15 millon for fees and maybe the same for their 3 years wages then that wont happen. The lack of backing would scare off most big name managers and I think we are lucky to have a pretty big name manager who is willing to work on what the club provides. I am certain any replacement will not have anything like WGS's present CV. Its interesting how very few people ever come up with replacement names who have a better CV and who would realistically come. I think they do not exist so it will be a step down after WGS.

What if he decides not to go into management again.........after all it would be hard to get a job better than the one he had :icon_mrgreen: Might turn his hand to punditary

I think he'll take the Scotland job at some stage. I think it would suit him and he wanted it before.

He'd be shortlisted for every job outside the top 4 if they became available I think.

Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd have the financial clout and prestige to choose any manager worldwide. I don't think he compares with Ferguson, Benitez, Hiddink or Wenger just yet.
