Its very easy with a DE! Never cut myself with those, but a few times with straight razor. The blades are so cheap that i throw them everytime. About 4€ for 20 blades :50:

Straight razors give me the *....no thanks, my barber used to use them and I hated it.....might give the saftey ones a try if they are a step up.

They are. And the blades are obnoxiously cheap. I have a beard, but still shave my neck and its by far the most comfortable shave that I've found. It takes a couple of attempts to learn how to do it right but once it clicks, you'll be a believer.

Fancy going down the safety razor route. Arsing about with the current setup of mach 3 turbo just doesn't work for a thick growth.

Can I get a safety razor from somewhere in Glasgow or do I have to order it online?

Started using a safety razor over a year ago and haven't looked back. No shaving rash, all day smoothness. Probably a 30 quid outlay for the razor but it will literally last forever. The blades are ridiculously cheap.

I use a Merkur 34HD razor. Favourite blades are either feathers or Gillette 7 o'clock sharp. You can get a blade sample pack of the most common blades for less than a tenner and that will last you a year.

My next purchase will be a good Badger hair brush.

Make sure you use the wanking arm so you get it all done in one hit before tiredness.

Its been a long time since i shaved i normally keep a few days of unshaved look on my chin so i was bit shocked at the price of throw away heads when i decided to shave the head...£10 for 10 heads and i only get about one shave per head.

Been looking today and found a web site with some good info on it and there was me thinking all razor blades are the same.:smiley-laughing002:

I will need to get the multi pack and try the different types until i find the one that suits me best.

May have to wait till winter so i can wear a hat to cover all the newbie cuts.:smiley-laughing002:

P.s. Are all the heads and blades universal or are you stuck with shaver brand and blades that match.

I used to use a cut throat and the old fashioned shaving soap and brush but I've grown my beard so the razor hasn't seen any action in a while

Im going to jump in and buy a razor, im going to go for the Edwin Jagger DE89LBL .

As it will be my first DE im looking for some blades that won't be to rough on the skin.

The shaver comes with DERBY blades so ill try them first, but is there better out there that anyone thinks i should be using.

It will be used for face and head shaving.

Same bad boy as i have mate :50: Derby blades are great. Everyone have different taste, and you should try out a few brands and see whats best for you. If you are buying a soap, i can recommend Proraso in bowl.

I guess that foam works aswell. I just prefer the glide you get from the soap. And ofc the ritual :56:

No clogged up heads of hair every two mins...no more over priced razors.
Just got 100 blades for £7.
If anyone out there is unsure or thinking about it....get it done, make the change.:50:
