Luke McCowan, who joined the club on deadline day from Dundee, came off the bench in the 77 minute, and the lifelong Celtic fan was delighted to make his first appearance and also be part of a Celtic team that won a Glasgow derby.

He said: “It’s indescribable. It’s a surreal feeling so it’s a dream come true for me but there’s plenty of hard work to go.

“You’re thrown in at the deep end and it’s just about showing that you can swim really. But it was a great occasion to come on to.

“The result speaks for itself and the form of the team just now is amazing and for me to come and learn from guys like James and be able to share dressing rooms with the likes of him and Cal is amazing. So there’s a lot to be learned from now on, but it’s been brilliant.”

I liked what he showed when he came on. My brother was watching at home and everyone he was watching with said it wasn’t impressive, at the game though I really enjoyed the positions he was taking up, his willingness to get on the ball and his workrate was outstanding.

He’ll do ok here as an option

We need players with his mentality in the team. Didn’t look out of place at all. This is where he deserves to be and looking forward to seeing more of him

Mentality from the brief glimpse is the word I think mate, he absolutely demanded the ball, worked to win it back, made space for himself and tried to make a difference even if not quite coming off but he didn’t look a guy that’s happy to be here, but one demanding the pass and others around him to make a move and work.

Kinda signing from the brief glimpse today I think I will love. Made the comparison before with Robson and Hartley the last established players in Scotland, not prospects that moved here, I loved them. This has that feeling for me.

He knows what it’s all about mate and he’s gonna play every game with a point to prove. Loving this signing already

Like McGregor shows for the ball when others don't. Could see Scales using him to move the ball out of defence when there where limited options. That's what we need when teams compact against us. Really think he'll help us across the season when it's tight. Important signing.

Great point here. Always feel Cal is at his best when he's back giving the defenders an option, great to see Luke doing it aswell. Obviously it's early doors but playing with Cal over the next year or two could potentially see Luke become his successor.
