What does Jeffrey Schlupp bring to Celtic?

Well, I think firstly his mentality will fit in with the culture here. I've never worked with Jeffrey before, but I've come across him. Obviously, he came through at Leicester City as a young player and won the league there.

The guys I remember speaking to at that time talked about what a good guy he was and what a fantastic player he was. He was multifunctional for them. Incredible pace and power.

Obviously, he moved on to Crystal Palace. And you can see, when he played there a lot of the times in my latter stages there at Leicester, he was a central midfield player. Played in there and played very well.

So, I think what he comes in as, he offers a great option for us in a couple of positions. Greg's been brilliant for us this season, but like all the other players, probably when I look back, we didn't bring in a left-back to cover him last season. I went with Scales as a cover left-back, but I just felt that I didn't want to take that risk this January.

So, we bring him in, his attributes, he's naturally left-sided. Physicality is really good. He's Premier League physicality, running power, touching the ball and, of course, like I say, the experience.

He's really excited about being here and I'm looking forward to spending the next four months with him.

    Will he be involved tomorrow?

Yes. Well, hopefully. Hopefully, he will be. He's ready to go. A really good level of fitness and, like I said, he'll really enjoy playing at this club

Feel sorry for him. Similarly to how I felt when Idah arrived last season. Not his fault by any stretch, just finds himself in the crossfire of a shocking deadline day and transfer window for the club.

I don't think many people are that concerned about whether he'll do a job either. If we got a striker in, there wouldn't really be any negativity surrounding this. I think we all understand Arsenal were being difficult over Tierney. I didn't really understand letting Valle go when we've had to go out and source another loan deal. But it's happened and we move on.

He'll do fine here, hopefully win a couple of medals, and then probably be off in the summer

We gonna get an interview with him tonight do we think?

Could have a game of Gerry bingo lol

"What do you know of Celtic?"

"Did you grow up watching Celtic on TV?"

"Suppose you've heard about the famous European nights at Celtic Park"

    Lol

Well in that case, possibly an even better signing than I initially thought.

Fingers crossed he's a 30 goals per season sort of left back

Also out of contract in the summer, could end up staying beyond all going well. Think we’ll all be pleasantly surprised with what he’ll bring to the team.

If he does well over the 4 month period there’s your KT backup when GT leaves. Also a perfect sub given the variety of roles he can play.

Looking forward to seeing the big man tomorrow night now as well as Yoto.

Played against teams like villa for years. A team our players struggled against. He'll absoloutely stroll it here. Looking forward to seeing him.

Especially against raith. Efes finest performance :fear:

Good signing and covers different areas. I do wonder what the story is with the striker cause we were clearly trying.

He might do alright but just feel there are better LBs, DMs and wingers out there we could've signed and there was no reason not to.

A good age. Will bring experience that we lack at times. Maybe just tipping into the end of his career but I think he is going to work out fine for us.
