Unless you hear it from the horses mouth then naw but to be fair one of the men who said that to me knows his stuff and he knows a heap of men in the association from all over the country. In theory it was a similar project signing but the stories I have heard on one of the celtic podcasts as well points to Balde coming in without Lennon's approval. I have also said previously that Lennon should not get all the credit for some of our gems as we have a recruitment policy that will tick along no matter who is in our dugout.

No players are brought in without the manager having the final say, complete * stupidity to think otherwise. Peter Lawwell isn't renowned for liking to spend millions frivolously, imagine that? Spend £2m quid when he knows for a fact the manager won't play him because he doesn't want him there.

Can't learn from a mistake he's not daft enough to make in the first place.

over time if would cost us, we should have saved the money and played a youth player, what's the point in wasting money? Also his wages as well so it's not just 100k in a few as well.

Only player that comes to mind is Craig Gordon, I don't think Ronny had a say in that one.

Because we obviously thought he wouldn't be a waste of money.

Hindsights a great thing. If he started banging them in everyone would be raving at the price.

Ronny ok'd it. He was invited on a trial without a manager, think that was a bit of a no brainer for Ronny though.

I used that as an example the last time. Gordon was coming in no matter who was in our dugout and in this case it was the correct call. I actually like how we do our business for the most part, as long as it does not cut the balls of our manager.

There're some good players coming out of Iceland. If we'd signed the next Gylfi Sigurðsson, you wouldn't be complaining. £100,000's almost literally nothing in football these days.

Gordon would have been lined up by the club but if Ronny had came in and said he's too risky (ie injuries) then it wouldn't have happened. There's an interview somewhere with Ronny actually talking about Gordon specifically

    This.

It's why he had an 6 week or so 'trial'

Desprately kept him around until we had a manager to say yay or nay.

Another trimmed off the wage bill. He'd have been on peanuts but they all add up..

Derk and one or two others to go and we've done a real good job of sweeping out all the *..

I don't see another club taking the risk on derk we did......he has had a cracking holiday and will see out his contract unless we bite the bullet and pay him off.

    Rumoured.

Makes sense though, was an Ajax first teamer in his peak years, was playing in the Champions League.

His wage would be around that.

FM has it at that as well if it's any sorta source:56: they're usually quite good at * like that.
