When we signed Cole Ronny said it would give him an option to play with two up front. He's only saying a lone striker doesn't have to take all the weight. He did also say he tried playing Ciftci up front with Griff but it didn't work.

I don't know why Stokes isn't getting a game, it's hardly due to effort considering his past statistics under Lennon.

The physical presence he posses, coupled with decent awareness and a good touch makes him a handful for any defence in Scotland.

Big character too must be good for our squad that can lack character at times.

Thought he did OK today, though it's obvious he can't really move much and is still really lacking match sharpness.

But he brings us good experience and a presence in terms of his physical style and his personality that we were obviously lacking. He's immediately likeable.

I like that it's hard to get the ball of him, and he won near enough every header he went for. He freed up Griffiths to just be a striker as well. The other thing I like is that we can get the ball up quick to him and then our midfielders have space to play, unlike when we move the whole team into the oppositions half and spend an age knocking it side to side among our defenders on the half way line.

    More 4-4-2 please Ronny!

    Decent performance.

Worked really hard and showed his experience with how well he protected the ball on a difficult pitch. If I'd been that defender, I woulda been pretty * off at the goal mind you, two hands in the back.

Was breathing out his * second half but that's understandable.

    Positive.

Perhaps the plan was always to sign Cole to be the perfect strike partner for Leigh and he just wasn't used straight away due to lack of match fitness. Perhaps he wanted Ciftci to be that player, but he's still unconvinced about a potential partnership between him and Leigh, perhaps a little uncertain about Ciftci on the whole.

I think Cole is the perfect partner for Leigh, due to his height, ability to retain the ball and due to his physical presence. His experience is a huge benefit too and hopefully he can pass down his knowledge to someone like Ciftci.

Also Cole and Griffiths is a lot different to Griffiths/Stokes were neither of the latter two are a strong target man, but kind of better playing just off a the main striker in a two.

Thought the big man was good the day. Probably more to come from him once he's a bit fitter too, so encouraging performance. So wish his overhead kick had gone in!

We are so much more dynamic with two up top . Cole offered an aerial threat and gave Tierney something to aim for .

Badly lacking match sharpness, but I thought he had a good game yesterday. Held the ball up well in my opinion, got his goal, and should have been awarded a penalty as well.

I doubt it will unless he gets a run of games, which is unlikely to happen if Griffiths is available.

The next few league games will tell us where Cole stands in the pecking order.

Griffiths will score 30+ this season if played with Cole.

Griffiths will score 30 anyway. That big lump of wood is finished remember who we were playing against yesterday. I could not believe he got pushed off the ball umpteen times by players that were half his size and he is so slow it makes Shifty look fast. I like the idea of having an option like Cole but just a more mobile version that can win a few headers and get about the park (his goal was about the first he won yesterday and he pushed the boy in the back to get it. We would have all been raging if that goal was given against Celtic).

Hopefully give the 442 a go in the league. We were a different team yesterday. Good interplay, Johansen making good runs forward into space, crosses hitting the target in the box. Mon tae * Ronald make it happen, we need a good skelping in the league.
