Not seen him anywhere near enough to make a judgement on him, but certainly has a presence about him. Obviously hasn't been match-fit whenever he has turned out for us, so it will be good to see him if he gets up to speed.

Cole will be a good stop-gap signing I feel. He didn't play for Chelsea & west ham if there wasn't something there.

Dion Dublin came up here in his twilight, after a long premiership career, about 11 years ago and was a good short term signing, cole will be the same.

By the time he is match * fit it will be 2018......so tired of this bringing players in and taking 6 months for them to get some game time.

How long does it take to get fully * fit? He's been training with us for the guts of 4 months now, barring a short term injury, so surely he's been fit enough for at least a 20 or 30 minute cameo??

Give him the nod against Stranraer, see what he can do, then take him off when he's tiring.

He is just now getting match fit, and with ciftici doing nothing in his chances there is no reason not to play him, unless there are injury concerns

    Just watched it.

For those that didn't see it. He said about Ronny: "what a man, you wanna play for him, such a nice guy". Didn't sing a song for his initiation, contributed to xmas party kitty instead. And he's looking at doing his coaching badges now.

Glad Tubes has reigned in the nonsense he used to do.

That tells me that he's already got one eye on retiring, so I'm not really sure I'll be expecting much from him to be honest.

What he brings to the squad is immeasurable, he will contribute on the park but his lasting impression may be an imparting of professionalism and experience. Invaluable to a young squad.

Over and above that, do you have the same reservations about Broony?

We only play with one striker. The only way Carlton Cole is going to get match fit is to get a run of games under his belt, which in turn means Leigh Griffiths would have to be dropped for a run of games.

Would you be happy with that?

Two years of an age difference, club captain, actually plays in games and has been a regular with us for going on nine years.

Cole has been a non-entity for us thus far, and I don't see that changing. His professionalism and experience off the park isn't why we brought him here, is it? He was brought to play games and score goals.

When Brown starts to show his age by not being fit enough to play, not taking part and basically being a dressing room mascot I'll likely have the same reservations, aye.

I just don't think Cole's going to make it here. He's done * all thus far, and likely won't do much this season. He'll likely be gone at the end of the season, and he won't be missed.

Give the poor guy a chance! He's probably not even fit yet having not played for * knows how long before signing with us.

You said the fact he's thinking about coaching tells you he has one eye on retirement. Brown is actively more involved in coaching and has been for a long time.

If any footballer at Cole's age isn't thinking about his next move he needs to fire his agent.
