    No perspective whatsoever with those stats though, the vast majority coming off the bench or being brought off.

    Factor in he played for Allardyce through a large chunk of that and his stats start to look far better.

    Starting to come round to this a bit more, he wont score a lot of goals for us but we need someone wth strengh who can hold up the ball and bully defenders, Rosenberg was * in England but his experience and power caused us plenty of problems against Malmo, Cole might be able to do the same for us.

    He wont be an automatic starter but for 2nd 3rd choice striker he could do a job.

    Playing for Allerdyce should have suited him as Sam likes someone to lump the ball up too but Cole never really shone in that role and was always being replaced. As soon as a more passing style of play was developed he was out of the squad altogether. I just have never seen anything from him that says anything other than he's fairly average.

    And he's 31 now so his best days are behind him. I would have just kept Scep if this was the other option.

    Playing for Allardyce didn't suit any striker when he was at West Ham, their fans detested his conservative brand of conservative football. They ground out everything.

    Which is peculiar considering he brought in Djorkaeff, Campo, Hierro, Jay Jay Okocha and others to Bolton.

    Allardyce plays whatever brand of football he thinks the squad can do. Saying that, first 6 months of last season they were playing cracking stuff. Quickly when back to turgid football.

    His Bolton team had to be one of the most entertaining around.

    Yeah precisely. If he maybe played for Man City in his prime, I'm sure he would've banged in plenty.

    And just like Citteh are the goal-scoring team in England, as are we up here. He could be hitting 15-20 for us. Or at least creating plenty of goals as well.
