    Defo need another CB.

But that won't happen till Nawrocki goes. As you say, the backup to the first two for me needs improved upon still. Ideally have a solid 3 to choose from then Scales to fill in.

Yeah i think we will defo have a strong first 11, but it's a long season, especially with more CL games, players will pick up injuries and that's why having strength in depth is so important.

He looks to me on the videos I've seen to have a bit more pace than Carter-Vickers. I may be wrong but that's how it looks and also looks more imposing due to his size/frame..

Carter-Vickers doesn't look it but is a beast in his own right..

I think this lad looks good tbh. Definitely has all the physical attributes we need in defence and looks good on the ball too.

Had a quick gander at the Sheffield Utd forum there and wish I hadn't... Here's hoping Brendan knows what he's doing.

Been holding off commenting on this due to a combination of not knowing a thing about him and reading every * being raging at being linked with him.

But really no one actually knows how it will pan out. As with every signing, mega bucks or penny pinching, can only judge him on what he does in a Celtic shirt.

Welcome big man give them it stinking :ynwacelti

I'm optimistic that Trusty will slot right in and start over Scales sooner rather than later. The fact he's left-footed bodes well that he's signed to be a partner to CCV, since we know being left-footed is essentially an imperative for a LCB under Rodgers.

The thing I'm telling myself is that if you put CCV in that Sheffield team last season I don't think he'd have fared any better.

I'd also still take Ahmehodzic, Vini Souza and Gustavo Hamer in a flash so..

Ahmehodzic might have been a step too far even for me after how he looked last season.

Best way to describe him is he looked like a clumsier version of Scales.

I must admit I was a bit surprised by this move as that was literally the worst defence in EPL history. But defending involves the whole team these days and I remember how wrong I was about a loan for some guy warming Norwich City's bench last January. I actually do have real trust in Rodgers' judgement now. He's earned that.

This reminds me of when Scott Sinclair was in the Aston Villa team that got relegated and was wrote off completely by their fans. Hard for anyone to look good in a team that done as bad as Sheffield united last year especially a defender. Some difference it will be going from having a keeper like cooper behind you to then having schmeichal who you’ll have a lot of trust in. Going from souttar to ccv is an upgrade too so hopefully it works out

Remaining optimistic he’ll be decent for us, he seems to have the physical attributes to be a good CB for us.

There’s been a lot of good players that have looked * in a * team … that Sheffield Utd team were absolute cannon fodder in the PL and it was more than just a CB problem.

I’m telling myself you could’ve put prime Puyol in their team last year and they’ve have went down with ease.

As many have said, Carter Vickers was getting whored around the jobbies of lower league Engerland until he came here.

As always I’ll reserve judgement, until the first game when he’s average and I’ll call out the player, manager and recruitment team in no particular order.
