Yeah you would think so wouldn't you but thats not always the case in football these days plus he shows more commitment than most regardless, i also said his consistently good performances hence his accolades.

Well it kind of comes across like that as i say theres been a good few threads out there where youv had a wee dig at the guy.

Well thats your opinion man but he is getting highly rated for a reason fifa top 10 to watch, player of the year etc so his market value is justified imo and there would be no reason to cash in while still potential for him to improve.

    Where you say eh?

I think the guy means, you don't try and express your point, you only mention what you think but when challanged to back anything up you don't say anything and only question the guy who's challenging you.

You're clutching at straws a bit here, he is played to get them he isn't in the side simply to cover tons of grass you need an end product as well.

Andy Dorman is a centre mid the exact same as Scott Brown, as is Bruno Aguiar and even Scott Arfield who played in an identical formation in an identical role for a relegation threatened side yet scored more goals in the league?

I commented on Scott in the player suggestions thread and decided to post it here so as not to totally sidetrack/hijack that one. You'll find a ton of threads about players that posters will describe as "pure * by ra way", "honkin", "a *" without any comment on why they feel this way or think in such terms, other than perhaps to tell you it's "obvious". There's plenty to be talked about on Scott as he's an interesting player who we might get an offer in for.

I doubt he will be sold unless a fairly high offer comes in, so from my point of view, I can only hope he improves in the areas I find him lacking in.

There's been a fair amount of posts, I feel i've tried to explain most of my opinions without overelaborating, and without "being up my own *".

I've not mentioned Donati, though I have mentioned replacing him with Yassine Chikhaoui.

I've already mentioned what i've not been seeing to his game, vision, passing ability, scoring and tackling

I'd bite the hand off you for £7m for Brown. Energy is not everything.

I alway seem to join the debate when it is over, still.

I would keep him as he can play a bit and TM got the best out of him before and there is no reason why he can't again. Just remember that the formation may change to the benefit of brown, who knows.
I do agree he has been hyped up by the fans as our best player, lets just say I have a different opinion on that one. He gave away his fair share of stupid free kicks outside the box, not to mention the passing lacked thought at times but to his advantage, he has presence on the park and that is something that worth its weight as much as it is a talented player being on the park.

Brown is one player TM knows well so i'm sure his thought are all on how to use him rather than what to do with him. Why have the worry about finding someone to replace him coming so close to the start of the campaign.

One of the lads mentioned about giving him another year , this would be the right thing to do as he will still have 2 years to go on his contract. That would be the right time to find out if he wanted to re-sign or let us sell him. as much as people say it would mad to sell, it would also be mad to let him run his contract down for nothing.

Are you a joke or what? Newcastle offered £8m before he'd even kicked a ball in a competitive match for us.

FIFA last year had him as one of the up and comming stars of 2008/2009 season to watch out for. Now imagine that scouts actually pay attention to what that list says.. Scott Brown had a fantastic year for us, so there's no way he'd go for anything less than £10m atm. Simply because we don't have to and don't want to sell him.

get a grip o yersel man

lol haha dont think so. Unlike rangers we dont actually need the money so why sell one of our best players for the sake of making a small profit?? :38:

Is this the best you can come up with?

Arsenal & Bayern were looking at signing this guy for circa €9M before he got injured.

Read the whole thread instead of just the title, then you'll find out "why".

i think we should hold on to our better players and broony is one of those, also we might see a more attack minded scott brown this season. if tm plays a 4-3-3 he could employ broony as an attack minded midfielder and then we could see more goals from him, but if we are offered crazy money for him £12m or above then sell him on

I think Brown is overrated by a lot of Celtic fans, because they enjoy seeing someone charging about.

For me he often looks like a headless chicken, and I'm not convinced his play has enough thought behind it.

But I reckon 7M would be very bad business, considering the potential he represents, and the current state of the transfer market sown south. There are complete donkeys going for 10M right now.

I still remember him bossing the Ukrainian midfield - Tymoschuk & all - and I would like to see how he will do under his old manager Mowbray.

It's all academic anyway, cos from what I've heard he plays a central role in Tony's plans.

Player of the year last year, still very young, and will be pivotal to Mowbray's plans. Although i agree he's not Scotland's very own Kaka, he undoubtedly has a lot of potential, and i look forward to Mowbray getting the best out of him once again.

I would certainly not entertain thoughts of selling him for at least another season, when i firmly believe his stock will have risen still further.
