The clincher for me is that Fraser Forster has had three shut outs
    at Ibrox this season.

Has any other Celtic goalkeeper ever achieved that ?

3 shutouts at Ibrox? Do you not mean 2? We won 2-0, drew 2-2 in cup and 0-0 today.

Yeah so it still counts as three shut outs in my book.

He got sent off with the score at 1-1, did he not? Whittaker scored from the pen to put them 2-1 up?

I would not feel confident about Forster saving a penalty. When we had THG I always felt he had a reasonable chance of saving one.

I have thought Given for some time, although can we afford him and would he want to come?

Also felt that FF wasn't good enough, although having seen this tonight - the stats don't lie.

There's no doubt that the defence have well and truly played their part in those shut outs, as there have been excellent blocks, last gasp tackles, etc, etc.

Either way, right now, it works and if it's not broke...

The thing is, will newcastle want to sell FF, will we pay the fee and has the club actually agreed a fee (as they usually do for a loan move) and what is that fee???

Also there's Westwood, who is out of contract and available for zilch!!!

Not to mention whoever else the club, scouts, etc have their eye on...

Definitely a 'watch this space' one...

    Hail Hail

FF should be given a little credit for the shutouts this season. To keep as many clean sheets as Boruc managed in a season is a great achievement. He is not the finished article but the big man is going to get better, no doubt.

Forster could still improve quite considerably, but he does not inspire me with confidence. Zaluska much less so.

I dont deny the guy has been a quality keeper for us but what would you prefer westwood out of contract? given (hopefully released)? Or forster a couple of million?

can't wait for this "world class keeper" to come in! 38 Clean sheets and no goals conceded. All this bollocks about not feeling confident with ff in goal - look at the * stats. How many costly errors has he made this season? one? His kicking is also so much better now. As for the idiot asking whether ff would save a penalty...moronic question. Clutching at straws comes to mind - what else can we criticise him on? don't like the way he ties his laces, boruc would tie them in a clover leaf. lets bring back the most overrated goalie of all time - arthur boruc! Ill b glad once ff comes back to ncle.

Forster puts the fear in me when he's playing, by a mile the poorest player in the celtic team, he doesnt communicate with defence, doesnt command his area, doesnt come out claiming crosses, in his defence his kicking has improved big time so i'm sure he's a hard trainer and in time will improve however Westwood is available on a free, he should be snapped up, he's an excellent keeper, all we need to do then is to flog Rasmussen, Murphy, Hooiveld, Loovens, McGinn, release Hinkel and Ljungberg and we'd have over 100k a week in wages saved which we could blow on a top class experienced striker and defender to add some serious quality to the squad.

i personally wont be sorry to see the back of forster. he never fills me with much confidence and i feel like hes an accident waiting to happen.

nothing against the big chap, but i just dont think hes good enough!

I just dont think Forster is the real deal, the goals lost in the cup final point to this, the first in particular when he went down to a trundler in installments

I dont think he looks comfortable in the six yard box let alone his full eighteen yard box.

We need a full time first team goalie and I dont think it is Forster, he may prove me wrong and I wish him all the very best for he is wearing our number 1 jersey, but we wiated thirty years for Boruc and I hope our scouts can find a goalie the same way they found Kayal and Iza

i give the lad credit, but feel he moves very slowly looks very lethargic at times
i think they are better keepers out there
