Boruc was terrible in his last two years. Look at Dazza's post. Forster has a better clean sheet record than Boruc, Goram, Gordon and McGregor . Forster is young and has a lot to learn, haven't we all :icon_mrgreen:

Forster has been excellent for us this season. 18 clean sheets behind an ever changing defence is sensational. He has made a few vital saves for us this year. One against Dundee Utd at Tannadice springs to mind and a few at CP, these are match winners.

McGregor is a better keeper but he is also a better age and he would cost a heck of a lot more. Forster deserves a lot more credit than to have a post on about how we need another, better keeper.

probably because we still seem to get them hairy moments and the defence is not proven i europe standards. It's top class for the current domestic standard though

    who, mcgregor?

he's a bit of a *, but some keeper. can't believe he's still with them

tbf, gordon only had one season where the side he played in, were one ot the top 2 in scotland- when they were, they were miles adrift of celtic, so his defence was not as strong by any means.

I'm assuming he was doing what the goalkeeping coach has told him to do in those circumstances.

    I would.

Punching is OK as long as there's good distance on it and the ball is well out of the danger area, were just not that used to seeing it here but you see it quite a lot in european games.

I ddin't Forster had one save to make during the game, but something I was thinking about it tonight was lets say the Huns had got the penalty up the other end. Do you honestly think Forster would have saved it from Jelavic/Whittaker in front of their fans at the copland road end. Something deep down tells me he wouldn't have. What do you all think?

I was going to say Chris Wood but that is Stevie Wood, isn't it :56:
But * 19 shut outs in 32 league games now.

Fraser Forster....i really dnt know wat to make of him....his record is flawless but it's the small things like failing to command his area and poor kickouts that have been costing us goals this season. He will get better better and grow more mature with age so I think he should be worth a punt and try and get him on a permenant deal...because i doubt he will want to go back to being Newcastle's 3rd choice keeper after (hopefully) experiencing trophy success here at Celtic and knowing that we will be in Europe next season

our defense has never been allowed to live down the euro disasters this season which is why ppl still have a suspect eye turned toward them

Did he have a save to make today?! Dealt with corners and fk's well today bar 1. Find it hard to criticise a keeper when they get clean sheets and even more so when they are part of one of the soundest defensive recods this season in Britain.

Not to sure on him tbh, hes a decent keeper no doubt but he doesnt command his box well enough.
Id still love to go for given in the summer, might be a long shot but hes a celtic fan and im sure he'd be interested, obviously will have to take a wage cut.
