I'm not running round in *, Hooper is better than Lewandowski and I would rather we signed more players like Hoops than the big stars.
Plus this thread is about our current financial situation, so that post was clearly referring to the present and alluded to buying Lewandowski now - which is neither practical nor necessary.

Not in his wildest dreams. Lewandowski has the top level ability hooper will only ever dream about. Hoops is very good but theres a reason lewy is wanted by about every big club in the world and hooper is not.

Well he's scored more goals than him, which is basically the requirement of a striker. And Robert is wanted by Man U. Apparantly. If you believe the papers. I doubt he'll leave Dortmund in Jan.
He is this year's Mario Gomez i.e. overrated.

You called the two best strikers in the Bundesliga over-rated? They would both easily be in the top ten for their position in the world

Well levandowski plays in a far better league and Dortmund had a far harder CL group than us, levandowski is in a different league from hooper.

OK, I'll take you up on that bet. And seeing I'm generous, I'll give you odds of twenty to one. :50:

But seeing how we both know it's absolute rubbish, you can just pay me my money now. I'll take a cheque. :56:

Come on now, be serious. We have Group Stage players in each position, not a world class player who can take us further and further in the comeptition. Forster and Wanyama may be the only two who I consider world class. I consider world class to be a player who could play in any team in the world, I think this pair could.

the amount of goals hooper and lewy have scored can't be compared due to the fact that lewy is playing in a much better league. Lewy is also a much better all round player which he often doesn't get credit for. A commentator in a match I was watching once called him a more rugged van persie, which I think describes him well hes not as techincally brilliant (although his technique is amazing) but he is faster and uses his body better aswell as being less injury prone. Mario gomez, huntelaar, and lewy are all much better than hooper and have scored bucketloads in the bundesliga but out of all 4 of those players I think lewandowski is the best because not only does he have the finishers instinct but he has more to his game. In an interview to the polish media he stated that in the biggest games he rarely scores but he always has his best games. In these games he is often the one who sets up the goals by winning a header or picking a through ball or chip past the defence. This is what sets him apart from just being a great finisher and makes him a true world class forward. If anything I would say he is an underated player and although I think it would be a terrible career move I'll wager that he'll be playing for one of the richest teams in the world by the summer.

Spot on, as good as people think Hooper is he can't be compared to them If he was better than Lewy then he would have got that England call up by now. The goals Lewy creates for Reus, Gotze and Kagawa when he was there was crazy.

Depends how we define that rather nebulous term "world class", doesn't it?
