No he hasn't, not on a consistent basis. He shown glimpses from time to time. that's why he's the level below world class.

    Nah, nope, no.

And I'm not listing them again. But he hasn't performed on the biggest games consistently enough to be considering world class.

    33 in 79 for England...

    Over 200 goals for United.

    Yet he's inconsistant.

And apparently playing out of position. And not nailing down his place :56:

200 goals in 9 years is a great record, at it shows he's an excellent player, not enough to define him as world class though.

As for his record in Europe, went missing in two champions league finals, was anonymous in their stint in Europe last season.

He's living off one or two excellent games, but they were in the earlier stages and not the very crucial games.

As for his England record that's over 1 ever 2 games, Robbie Keane has roughly 1 in 2 for Ireland, scoring over 50. I wouldn't consider him world class though and he has scored three world cup goals too.

Robbie Keane was world class for Ireland, not in his overall career though. Similar to Podolski there, who is world class for Germany but not really in his club career.

Rooney is living off one or two games? Are you kidding me on?

You're saying he's inconsistent then saying 200 goals in 9 seasons is a great record? How can both be true?

Between 2004 and 2008 he was playing in his position, and was largely getting goals due to being surrounded by world class players like Scholes, Ronaldo,Giggs and Tevez.

In 2009-2010 is his only world class season, since then he's been playing out of position because Fergie has better options in his favoured position which says it all really, he doesn't have faith in him to put in consistent world class performances anymore in the big games.

Strange to say hes not a big game player, hes scored against several goals against liverpool, chelsea, city, arsenal, and spurs in recent seasons, last year when utd were 2nil down to west ham rooney came out and scored a hatrick and also scored on the last day of the season which couldve been the goal to win utd the league. In the CL hes scored in semi finals, quater finals, finals against the likes of chelsea, munich, barca, Roma, milan, schalke. Id say his record in big games is up there with other world class attacking players.

    * sake, people are saying he's played * this season and he has 18 goals in 28 games and 12 assists.

That's how good he is, that that is considered bad for him.

He's inconsistent in the BIG games and he's living off one or two European performances (in terms of Europe, when originals told me to look at his supposedly excellent European record).

He benefited scoring wise by being surround by the best player in the planet Ronaldo and world class players like Scholes and Giggs.

Many strikers like Sheringham and Solskjaer had great scoring records for United in terms of goals per appearances due to the quality they played with. Doesn't make either of them world class.

I'm saying Keane performs better for Ireland than Rooney does for England in their respective big games.

But Sheringham and Solskjaer and the likes are nowhere near Rooney in terms of goals scored for Man United. Even with the world clas splayers there he has always been considered in the top two players for UNited at least.

Look at Jamesy's postt. Goals in Europe, Semi Finals, Champions League Finals, Quarter Finals....

One or two games, that is bollocks and I suspect you know it.

He's scored in one final out of three and was woeful in the other two finals. Even in the one he did score in he was rather anonymous for most of the game.

Vs Munich, they lost so it was irrelevant his goal.

An excellent forward surround by world class players is always going to get a fair few goals tbh, doesn't make him world class.

Solskjaer didn't play as often and Sheringham wasn't at United very long. The reason Rooney has been at United so long is because he was signed so young and Fergie thought he'd be the next Man United legend.

One or two was a slight over exaggerating, but nowhere near as many top class performances as other world class players who grip tight games by the scruff of the neck and do spectacular things in those major European nights. He's scored when ever his team were trashing Roma, out playing Chelsea. As for his goals against Bayern and Barca they meant nothing in terms of the end result.

Ah, so because he scored in them and didn't win they mean nothing? You're talking * mate. He scored in them, you can't discount that.
