    the best reason i heard for the ref changing his mind was when i was in the pub the other day was from another celtic fan

    he said and i agree with him that brown was being booked for fouling neymar from behind when he was away and clear so that was the reason for the yellow in his hand he changed it to a red once he got to face him again and that was for the kick out at neymar

    fair decision the red card don't why we're all going mad about it and defending him! as it was indefencible really

    The application of the rules should take priority over any application of common sense. Common sense is simply far too open to interpretation and is far too loose to enforce any common standard of refereeing across the globe.

    Aiming a kick at someone is a red... None of the 7 cautionable offences fit it more than "violent conduct", the only thing that would come close would be "serious foul play"... which is also one of the sending off offences.
