Was Henrik booed?

yeah some idiots did boo him but hes a legend and most people in the stadium still relise that to this day

sorry to say it but i was there and they were booing the king, but its probably the same ones who phone in to get WGS the sack!

 

Thats the way I remember it. Ronaldinho had just made a bad challenge or won a dubious freekick and was getting booed when he came off for Henrik. Thought the fans responded in the best possible way that night by singing "it a grand old team," that was the loudest I've ever heard Celtic Park.

 

I'm sorry but you never boo ex-heroes unless they have really * all over you.

Did you boo any other Barcelona player individually to try and unsettle them? And let's remember, most of the booes were after he had scored, because he had the cheek to do a professional job and put the ball in the net, rather than miss on purpose.

As far as I saw it, there were people booing because they just couldn't get their heads around the fact that he left Celtic to join some tin pot club like Barcelona in that 'inferior to the SPL', La Liga, when he could have played out the rest of his days at Inverness and Kilmarnock.

In all of the years I have watched football, the minority of fans booing Henrik Larsson was one of the most pathetic and shameful things I have ever come across.

 

i was at that game too and their were eejits booing all over the place !! i actually asked yin o the eejits just in front ae me how he could boo the man who had just won us the scottish cup barely weeks before it and his reply was "* him he disnae play wae us noo" UNBELIEVABLE i seen him scorin that diving header at the euros and listened to the commentator soundin surprised that he could score goals like that and we had seen him doing it for 7 years and these EEJITS are booing him !!

 

Remember it was a huge game, passions were running high. Thinks were probably said/done in the heat of the moment. Henrik is the King of Kings and will always be welcome at CP.

 

Henrik reacted to that goal the very same way Denis Law reacted to scoring for City at Old Trafford. Law's goal did way more damage to the team he dearly loved and there weren't too many boos at Old Trafford.
Like it has been said before, had Henrik missed an easy chance deliberately because he was playing against Celtic, all his hard earned respect and reputation would have evaporated there and then.
Those who booed him were morons, pure and simple.

I thought they were booing Alan Thompson for setting up the goal, haha!!!
It was horrible seeing & hearing fans boo Henrik that night, I couldn't believe it, just goes to show you how short certain peoples memories are.

Henrik deserves a special place in Celtic history, the fans that booed him that night don't deserve to call themselves Celtic fans, terrible behaviour towards one of our favourite sons.

 

i was at the game and i think cos he played for us and moved to barca the fans didnt think he would score against.
anyway i hope it wasnt for real doing that i mean its HENRIK LARRSON FFS THE KING OF KINGS! never in my heart would i boo the best player i seen playing for our great club.

all i can say is thank * his last goal at celtic park was for celtic....would never have liked the fact his last goal there was for barca

 

A don't expect fans to stand up and applaud his goal, but it was a time to sit and just show respect to a man who has done so much for the club.


On a side note. When West Ham played us at CP in a friendly, Di Canio scored a brilliant Free Kick. The guy behind just stood up and clapped his hands. Was a fitting gesture

 

i was there that night ,almost got into a fight for having a go at some supporters who booed him,they were told to sit down and shut up by a few others too, shame on them for booing

 

I dont deserve to call myself a Celtic Fan? I have had my Season Ticket for years folks. I am and always will be a Celtic Fan. I couldnt care less if the lot of you think that I was out of order. If I think booing someone will unsettle them and make them not play aswell as they can then I will do it. Ex Celt or not. I did and still do boo other teams players.

It was not because he left Celtic. It was because I knew how good he was. i knew that he could take our defenders to the cleaners. I knew that he would score as he felt at home playing at CP.

You cant compare teh reception that Larsson received and Di Canio. Larsson played against us in European match and Di Canio in a friendly. If it was a friendly that Larsson appeared in then there would never have been a boo that left my lips. He would have been cheered to the rafters.

I back the team. I dont really care about the players when they leave. Larsson is an exception though. I loved seeing him get stuck into the English teams at Man Utd. But should he have played against us then I would have done the same when he appeared on the park.

I dont shout for WGS to get the sack, I am one of his biggest supporters.

If the booing that nite is the most shocking thing you have seen at football then you live a sheltered live my little cherub.

And the singing of Hail Hail that nite was by far not the loudest I am afraid!!
