Aye, I saw about three at the derby broadcast and about three another time. I really noticed it because I knew about the CCS union flag thing and often wondered about the attitude towards tricolours among the Hibs support.

Why can't you get your head around the fact that many Hibs fans don't have an opinion either way, it doesn't mean they dislike or resent Ireland or the Irish.

Heart of Midlothian were formed in a dance hall, should all their fans have a deep rooted love for dance halls?

Again, you're being too melodramatic with the word "abandon". Some Hibs fans will care about that stuff, others won't, there's no rulebook saying supporters of the same team must all think the same way.

Tbh, our support is almost entirely not Irish so I can understand why people would rather identify their club as being Scottish than Irish.

Eh? What were you doing with your "you get around" comment? Clearly implying that I sit and read through Celtic, Hibs and Hearts forums, which isn't true at all.
