    What about Mulgrew? Seen alot of people say that he will partner Wilson but it will be very hard to leave Mulgrew out as he offers not only a solid defensive performance but excellent set piece delivery which will be all the more useful with big bad Balde up top, not to mention Van Dijk himself who is supposedly a goal scoring centre half. Wilson has improved massively over the last year granted but I would still have Mulgrew in personally. Will be a tough decision anyway.

    Possible that we'll be seeing a bit more of Charlie at left-mid given the reinforcements at the back and the addition of Balde. Just a guess.

    I haven't seen the boy play for the Hoops yet, and so too soon to say he's going to oust anything we have at the moment. I have to say I have been fiercely critical of Kelvin Wilson in the past, but not anymore: he is definitely not the finished article, but I am seeing a lot of Rio Ferdinand class in him (in Rio's heyday) in recent performances. Added to that, Charlie Mulgrew is a very gifted player, who can play CB, LB or in the middle left; he has a sweet delivery from set pieces which is very important to us, so I do think he will be accommodated; where though... we will have to see how Virgil plays.

    I am really excited about the signing. Great acquisition, a Dutch centre half who is 21 and the 10% sell on clause tells you all you need to know: this boy clearly has some class, and is going places. If he contributes to more glory and great nights at Paradise, I will wave him happily on.

    I have a 70% feeling he will slot in at Centre half with Kelvin, and we'll finally end these defensive headaches. Charlie moving aside to the left. Izzy hasn't really done enough to deserve that LB slot permanently, no way, not of late.

    In short: just excited about another clever signing.

    i would think his price tag suggests that he would definitely be fighting for a first team place immediately. i hope he is given time to settle though.

    excited that we've got these players in quickly and haven't had to sell to buy, although we all know one or two will be sold this Summer. still £4m-£4.5m purchases is still massive for us without selling first. well done to the board.

    knowing Park and Lennon's judgement, i expect one of these signings to be a superstar.

    With the Champions League qualifiers coming up mid July i think, there's a bit of time for him to gel in with the lads, and hit the ground running.

    With all this talk no one is talking about big Balde up top, which is actually the signing I have been crying out for since Pierre joined up, and I adored him as striker... I can see (if he stays) Hooper and Balde causing * havoc together.
