    * this, the club best not sell. We finally sort our back four out and now we need to hold on ti that and invest in our attacking assets. A good creative midfielder and a goal scorer will see us ready for the CL.

A lot of that will depend on the player himself though, won't it? If a concrete offer comes in and he makes it clear he wants to go, then he'll more than likely end up going.

I hope he doesn't though. Not yet.

Not always mate, just depends, look at what happened with Rooney and Suarez this summer? Or previously with us with Henrik when we persauded another couple of years out of him.

He signed a three year deal, so there is no panic to sell. Money talks though and City aren't exactly shy in offering up massive sums of cash for top players.

Virgil is contracted until 30/06/2017, any bid would have to be top dollar.

Think Celtic also have an extra year option on top of that

Have Man City signed any SPL player in the last 5 years?

As I said, it'll depend on what the player himself wants. If he fancies making more money, playing in a more high profile league, and possibly making a last-ditch attempt for the World Cup he'll more than likely end up going.

Keeping a player against his will never usually ends well. If we can convince him that Celtic is the place to be (and let's be honest, right now we'd have a hard time selling that), then that would be superb.

Aye, but the difference is that VVD looks like the real deal. I always thought that the other guys you mentioned were good at SPL level, but were never really good enough for the very top level of European football.

I have a feeling that big virgil will be plying his trade at the top table of European football one day.
