    He certainly looks the real deal. Unlike most Dutch defenders, he actually looks like he enjoys defending as well as being able to play out from the back. A lot of Dutch defenders are known for their footballing ability rather than their ability to defend, but this lad seems to have both which is excellent for us.

    He was fantastic last night, well deserving of his man of the match award. Calm, assured and confident. Everything you want from a defender on a big night.

    Hopefully he'll get a call up for the Netherlands national team. He deserves it and they aren't famous for their defensive abilities.

    I thought we were going to miss Wilson massively this season but this * is an upgrade. Just strolls through the game. Should definitely be in the Dutch squad - they`re no exactly blessed with the best defenders

    Does he have any flaws? Really big/strong, great at winning the ball and defending and tackling, never panics when on the ball, great with the ball at his feet and going forward and has a great shot on him.

    Think his only flaw is giving away free-kicks in dangerous areas, but that isn't even something I'm worried about

    Never been more genuine in my opinion that one of our players will go to the very top of the sport. I thought it with Wanyama, still do. But even more so with Virgil, Holland would be crazy not to start him at the WC next summer, never mind just taking him.

    Dont think so. He is like Hummels from Dortmund, big strong player, reads the game well, great at blocking and tackling, solid in the air and quality on the ball.

    Only thing would be he is not fast but he is faster than probably 80% of centre-halves so its not even if thats a weakness lol
