Hooper didn't have to go to Norwich, he could've easily stayed at Celtic or gone to another club. My suspicion is he was so desperate to play for England he chose the first club who came calling.

Petrov and McGeady went to Aston Villa and Everton, not exactly tin pot clubs by any stretch.

Sheer nonsense. Wonder if he said the same thing about Larsson back in the day.

Most expensive defender ever is incredible. Can see him going to another level with them as well.

Yeah smashing big player a good 7.5 million in our tail aswell, always think Dutch lower mid table market with teams like Groningen always worth a shot, that's where robben, Roy McKay started their career s

Currently living in Groningen and have developed a real affinity for the place. My barber claims to be friends with Dusan Tadic and Tim Matavz. Their current crop look pretty poor, however.

The pick of the bunch would be the forwards Mahi and Idrissi but they're a very young, inconsistent team. Really nice wee city, well worth a weekend visit.

Always was a wee Hun, the Hun scouts went to Kilmarnock v airdrie game in 1977 to watch provan as they wanted to sign him, he played * and Gordon smith played well and scored and the Huns signed him instead, provan was gutted, to be fair he was a good player for us before his illness thing

Davie Provan was an excellent player for us. Never knew he supported Rangers but if it hadn't been for Danny McGrain he would have been my favourite player growing up.

Leaves a bad taste in my mouth him getting a hard time here as my memories of him are all good and from memory he always put in a shift.

Provan, Daglish, McGrain, Stein were all Rangers fans growing up but think history has shown that doesn't count for much given what they did for our club.

Don't think they're Park/Lennon early days standard, the recruitment job done off the back of the McGeady sale was top class.

Turning Mogga's brutal Celtic side into a Champions League last 16 side, pretty much off the back of a £9.5m sale, ranks up there with our best achievements in recent years.

That being said, things had gone a bit stale, and its early days.

Some of Park's signings were * awful. Particularly forwards. Bangura, Balde and Brozek up there with some of the worst in the last 20 years.

Definitely, but that first year under Lenny was insane.

Mulgrew, Ledley, Hooper, Kayal, Emilio, Forster, Commons for like £4.5m.

Juarez flopped, but by all accounts that wasn't down to ability. Stokes a good signing domestically.

Next year we got Wanyama, K.Wilson, Matthews and Lustig for £900k!!

Then you have the likes of Rogic, VVD, Johanson, Griff all for under £6m.

Happy to cop a few flops tbh in amongst the class signings Park/Lenny/Ronny made.

Even teams with huge transfer budgets have players who flop, so it's not surprising we have a few with the money we have to spend.

This may have been answered, hope I don’t sound too stupid but, how can this all be done before the window is open?

Players can transfer at any time, they just can’t be registered to play until a transfer window opens.

75 million for a defender. Insane. The English game needs going bust to be honest but not before we get our slice for the Van man.
