Talk of Sturridge being used in part of VVDs transfer to Liverpool. Say Southampton done a fee plus player deal, how would that affect our cut? Might cut the transfer fee right down.

Sturridge can't play more than 5 games a season I'm sure Southampton wouldn't be stupid enough to fall for a massively reduced transfer fee to take on the wages he would command

Its a general question anyway. Let' say they do a deal with Liverpool for 2 players and no fee in January. Would we be *??

Aye we'd get * all cos We need a sale to happen not a trade but Southampton know they're sitting on a gold mine and will milk it

It's just the way deals are, we get a % of a transfer, if Southampton get no money for him there's nothing to get a % of

Southampton’s resolve to keep Virgil van Dijk beyond the January transfer window will be tested again with Manchester City holding an interest in the defender who is long coveted by Liverpool.

Arsène Wenger, the Arsenal manager, is also weighing up whether to move for the Holland centre back, who is rated at what would be a world-record fee for a defender of £70 million.

Pep Guardiola, the City manager, will try to strengthen his options in central defence next month, despite his side’s yawning lead at the top of the Premier League, and must decide between two options.

They can * off with this now. These * throw money about like it’s going out of fashion but then when we have a chance to benefit all of a sudden they need to tighten their belts?

Kevin Palmer is reporting that a structured deal that is approaching Southampton’s lavish £70m asking price is close to being agreed for Virgil van Dijk. [Independant]

Like most ex-Celts, I barely give a * about them after they leave.

I've been keeping an eye on Van Dijk though, simply because we're due a small fortune when he signs on for big money.

All the reports are that the sell on fee is between 10-15%, so if he goes for the reported fee of between £70-80m, then it'll be somewhere in the region of £7-8m.

    Ker-*-ching!
