:56: I wouldn't advise Saints to mess with Dermot the Destroyer or Peter the Persuader. They don't call them Goodfellas for nothing. It's like the Joe Pesci scene if you try to rip them off. :40: :bash:

I don't see Southampton begrudging us what could be the best part of £5m.

They've done extremely well from us and it's a relationship they'll want to continue.

If they get £60m we'll get £9m won't we? I read it was 15%. Could be wrong though.

To think the likes of Andy Walker doubted his ability to perform in the EPL.

Seriously? How is it possible to actually play the game for years and still not recognise within a few minutes a top class player?

Exactly. Guy strolled through games in 2nd gear.

He did make mistakes, however he was young and inexperienced. Walker had a fascination with his positioning on the occasions that he took up the wrong one. The thing is though whether yer Van Dijik,Stones or John Terry. Defenders will make mistakes with positioning.

That'd Dwayne "the Stones" Johnstone injured in the city game. Deal looks more likely now

Defenders make mistakes quite often. That's why they learn to cover for each other. Even when Virgil made mistakes it was obvious his quality was far too good to worry about the odd error. Plus he never made Efe like errors or if he did it was so rare I don't remember it.

Only time was when we played Malmo or Molde and he got mixed up with Denayer or someone else when trying to clear the ball but that could've been either player to blame.

His runs forward and his free kicks were of a very high standard, way beyond the SPL. Walker seriously must just like putting us down. I mind when we sold Virgil I wanted us to demand £20m but we didn't but it was obvious Southampton would sell him for a profit. we better get our money's worth next time.

Most papers or online sources seem to say 10%...but on Football Manager 2017 its 15%.
We won't know till its done and dusted, but even then could still not be publicly released.

That touted fee is ridiculous. Not that I think he's not worth it in relative terms (John Stones). But the fee's in football now are getting beyond a joke

I've still got mates I argued with that he'd walk the Premiership saying he's * :52::56:

One of few players to regain his place in the best XI in Europe so far this season from last season...

I love the thought of your mates trying to come to terms with the new Chinese market. Ronaldo £280m? Yes the fat one. :eek1: :43: :40: :56:

I see big Virgil got himself sent off yesterday. Two yellows. They got beat at home by WBA (1-2) - which is rather embarrassing.

I read that if the fee is over 30mil we receive 15% , could be rubbish though

Aye I wonder if the pressure is getting to him. It looked like he had a shocker with the two yellows, especially the second as he seemed to stand waiting as if he couldn't see the forward right in front of him ready to make a run for a ball that Virgil should never have let get away from him.

Very out of character performance and not great timing if he's in a transfer battle. Of course any potential club should look at the bigger picture but it was quite strange.

Some players have bad days I guess.

I wonder where all the rumours about our sell on percentage are coming from? I've read between 10 and 15%. 5% is a lot for us if it's really big money.
