    There was a poll in the forum a few weeks/months back, for the best CB that was in the club, in the past 5-6 years. I voted Big Mick, but now I wish to change my vote. Van Dijk has certainly convinced me in his ability. If he would just send a big *-off to any bidders that come in the Summer, it'd be perfect.

    I heard those two CelticTV commentators read a text from a viewer saying that van Dijk looks like the best defender since Paul Elliot.

    Very hard to disagree with that comment - so many similarities.

    Decent pace, strong, great in the air, composed, comfortable on the ball, wonderful technique, a leader, he has all the attributes to be a top player.

    I think he may make mistakes as he is still young and his style of play may mean he is more prone to giving the ball away and things like that but if he does make a mistake we fans must stick with him to get the best out of him.
