I'd rather we took the money now than wait till January because his heads probably not going to be with us throughout this half of the season.

Set him on his way now, take the cash and reinvest with fresh faces.

His head will need to be with to secure a good move...

Altough I'm not sure I could cope with him paying every game like he's in the shop window, he needs to defend first..

He will be very hard to replace though..

I wonder how much money goes to FC Groningen if we sell him.

So we would clear 5-6 million once we take off their % and what we paid for him......for that sort of profit i would say * it...keep him and let him go for free in 2 years.

IF its £11 million and IF its a 20% sell on clause we would get just under £9 million. I am always amazed that people know what the sell on clause is or if indeed there is one. :97:

According to reports at time he arrived, sell on was 10%, so on minimum £10m sale, profit is £7.5m, sell on is £750k, so our profit is £6.75m.On £11m sale, profit is +£8m. So sell.

If Blackett is his 'replacement' and we end up rotating with Ambrose and Boyata for a large chunk of the season I really will be lost for words.

I am but I thought we'd realise that Ambrose just should be nowhere near that starting 11.

Boyata is hardly filling people with confidence right now either.

If it's 20% sell on and sell him for 11.5M we will maybe see £5M put back in the team.

If he's going I'd rather he went immediately so we can move on without him

    They do , don't they .. :97:

What you mean he isn't on 5k/7k/15k (all figures I have read on here) :smiley-laughing002:
I also know that whenever he is sold, that some-one/people will start the myth that VVD never wanted to leave in the first place and IF we had only paid him more money he would have been happy to stay.
I read that regarding Hooper the other day.
It is honestly like some people are determined to start lies and cause further friction in the Club :31:

Celtic have confirmed the signing of Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk.

The former FC Groningen man has signed a four-year contract with the Scottish Premier League champions, joining Portuguese striker Amido Balde in moving to the club this summer.
The Dutch club on Friday stated the 21-year-old has moved a fee which could rise to three million Euros (£2.6m), with a 10% sell-on clause also included.

    From STV when he signed.

I wonder what clauses would bring his fee up to 2.6 and did he hit them in the 2 years he was here.

Assume that he did, so £11.5m sale = + £8m profit and £10m = £6.75m. Good biz for £2.5m investment over 2 years.
