    Yes i do. Our CL shortcoming did not mean that VVDs ability instantly diminished. He has attributes thay other defenders dont. In addition, southampton are under pressure to kick start their season having exited the europa league themselves. Theres a market for center backs in england right now and with prices inflated as they are, VVD actually represents decent value.

    Maybe a deal is already in place and we are working to bring in a replacement before we let him go. The interest already existed and out reluctance to let him leave wont dissappear until we are certain we have replacements in place.

    If he stays, he needs to sign a one year extension. We have to cash in for £10m+ and that won't happen if he stays until January for whatever reason.

    We've been pretty spoiled with big Virg tbh. Before him we used Mulgrew, Efe, Wilson, Rogne and whoever else. Last defender we had as good as him was over 10 years ago. We might not see anyone as good for another 10
