Deila stated weeks ago that Vvd would not be leaving before the qualifiers were over. End of.

English media seem to be hinting at him being dropped for the Dundee Utd game being due to a potential transfer to Southampton , deluded * need to do some research and realise we rested the team due to European fixtures and the importance of it to our club.
If I was Celtic I would tell them to get to * for being disrespectful and potentially breaking virgils focus ahead of this game

The problem is, we don't know if his agent has told them to wait until the qualifiers are under. If they know he wants to leave then they won't bid as much as they would if he didn't.

Virgil van Dijk will play for Celtic in their crunch Champions League play-off clash with Malmo on Tuesday night.

Reports suggest that Southampton had won the race to sign the 24-year-old Dutch defender in a £10million deal, and that consequently he would miss the second leg in Sweden to join up with the south coast club.

However, a spokesman for the Scottish champions told Sportsmail: 'The story is absolute nonsense and Virgil will play on Tuesday. We have no agreement with any club.'

Just what we all knew anyway...

Bunch of * stirring, brass knecked, tabloid idiots. They are like pond scum, low. Totally unprofessional, they're just playing at being journalists. I wonder if they ever bother to fact check anything before running a story.

I'll be disappointed if he does go for £10m. He should be going for at least £15m.

Exactly. If we go out Tuesday 10 million will be harder to turn down. I really hope we pull a performance out.

IF we do go through and get that potential £30m jackpot and then go and sell Van Dijk as well then I would expect more spending than we are used to in the remaining days of the window.

That's £40m big ones there straight off. Not including our player profits from previous years.

According to a twitter rumour we have accepted £10.5m plus 12.5% sell on clause to Southampton.

if this is true- sounds like a fair deal. I think within two years he will move on to a bigger team and at that point we will be more satisfied.

The sell on is alright, I suppose, but we'll have to give some of that fee to his old club which makes it slightly less in the bank for us to reinvest. Assuming we even plan on doing - I think we should be getting a new defender in ahead of time if we're planning on selling him.

I doubt that £40m worth of income goes straight into a transfer budget, I'd imagine a percentage of it will, but not all of it.

Don't think that's what Ronny meant, think he means that surely Deila gets an increased budget cause so far this window he has only got a net spend of around plus £250k, Boyata was bought before 30th June which in previous years (VVD and balde) went into the previous seasons budget/accounts!

    In's (amounts reported)

    Janko £200k
    Ciftci £1.5m
    Bailly £250k
    Allan £275k

    Out's

    Pukki £480k
    Matthews £2m

So in theory he has spent jack * again this summer and the board are hoping we qualify IMO he should get at least £10m in the last week of window if we beat Malmo but it won't happen but according to some we have 3or4 deals ready to go if we win!
