I also miss Wanyama. Although gradually it's being eased by Bitton.

Just annoys me they would compliment each other very well, with Van Dijk behind them.

We'll just need to watch Southampton in a couple of years to see that :smiley-laughing002:

One of the best run clubs in the UK, with one of the best academies in the UK having a lot of money isn't a surprise. Not sure what makes Southampton a "wee mickey mouse team".

Have you considered there have been significantly more teams capable of winning the league in England than Scotland?

More large teams = more competition = a lot harder to win the top flight.

Put Southampton in the Scottish leagues for the last 130 years and they'd probably have won the league at some point.

That has been said for 23 years, and there are no signs of that happening. In fact the 2016 to 2019 £5 billion+ TV deal is a big increase on anything before.

How do you envisage the "bubble bursting"? What set of circumstances will bring that about, because a world financial crisis didn't. People globally want to watch English football and the money keeps getting bigger as interest grows.

Calling her "hefty" is pathetic. She has now owned the club for 5 years, she goes to games home and away and has invested a lot of money in the club. She doesn't look bored to me, if anything she is enjoying it more and more.

Every Premier League season at St Mary's has averaged over 30,500.

Celtic rarely sell out their stadium. Last season Celtic averaged 44,000, the kind of size Southampton are potentially looking to expand St Mary's to.

I'm sure Wanyama and Forster are happy with their wage increases, playing in a very high profile league and working every day at a training ground which has recently had £40 million of improvements to it.

Quite like Southampton myself, if the big Djik goes a wouldn't mind him going there or Everton.

But to see him playing with Wanyama would be amazing. Hope he stays one more season amd enjoys the Champions League but can't see it.

Aye, Southampton seem like a proper club to me in England. Done things right, not like another 'franchise' like team down south.

It's not Southampton's fault the EPL has far too much money.

As said above they aren't one of these daft franchises with Arab owners,

Southampton also signed Rangers (1872-2012) captain Steven Davis.

Old Firm to South Coast transfers

    Summer 2012 - Steven Davis
    Summer 2013 - Victor Wanyama
    Summer 2014 - Fraser Forster
Summer 2015 - Virgil van Dijk?

Southampton have also got Koeman, Pelle and Clasie from Feyenoord.

Celtic's feeder clubs are basically the rest of Scotland (bar Sevco) and in particular Dundee United.

Why would you even mention them? Do me a favour and don't lump us together with the dead team.

If the 20% fee is indeed in his contract then that kind of changes things.

12 million at least then for me.
