We can be pretty happy with our entire back four and keeper right now. Two clean sheets with Gordon excelling the few times he was called into action.

Agreed about forcing Johansen's yellow, was shouting at the telly but apart from that he was excellent. Covered boyata a couple times in the first half as well..

I think Virgil is better. Hopefully we will qualify and we can see if he can perform at the top level.

We'll dispel that notion when he does the business in the group stages against top sides, like Wanyama did. He looked solid and dependable tonight (bar one silly mistake that put Johansen on a yellow) but has a ways to go before being considered a colossus in Europe.

    * off, johansen could have got 6 yellows tonight, he sails close
to the wind regularly & the ref had just seen enough.

You don't think Virgil left him hanging in that instance? Seriously?

He definitely did, Johansen had to make that tackle.

Virgil was different class for the rest of the game though!

I'm not denying that, just saying he could have got 6 yellows in the game,
in fact did he lunge with his head to the opposition player earlier on? I thought he did, which if the ref reacts is a red.

Yeah, that's true. I was simply highlighting the mistake by Virgil. I guess it's a sign of how good he is that such mistakes really stand out when he makes them.

We need him for the next qualifier.

It is absolutely crucial he plays.

Unless he's injured, he will, mate. Lawwell isn't that stupid, he knows what's at stake here.

I think he is better than Wanyama, and I really rate Wanyama. Talks need to start at £15 million for Van Dijk and that's taking into consideration he plays in the SPL and not the glorious EPL, that's a very fair price considering his age and ability.

£15 million with add ons and a % sell on has to be the minimum.
