Hiddink has left Holland. I think you'll see him called up pretty quickly, regardless if he stays or goes.

This might sound pessimistic but I worry Everton may lose John Stones late in the window and then panic bid for someone like Virgil to get someone in.

Would say that's difficult to judge. Stones probably has a higher ceiling in terms of potential. Right now I'd say they're pretty close.

Van Dijk's better and has bigger potential for me. He has absolutely everythin to his game, Stones doesn't. Albeit he's 3 years younger.

Stones is a quality young player and him being English only adds to the hype. I do rate him though and I don't often say that about English prospects.

A 'Rolls Royce' of a CB.

That isn't the be all and end all though.

The obvious potential is there. £10m or so is literally pocket change to a Man United or Arsenal.

It is pretty astonishing to me considering if you look at the quality of CB's they already have. VVD would instantly add something to that United defence and suits the system down to the ground.

If it doesn't work out, they lose out on £10m, they probably make that in 10mins due to feckin Japanese shirt sales. :smiley-laughing002:

Seems that a Southampton bid may be iminent.

I imagine Louis Van Gaal, being dutch is aware of him and will have been in contact with the dutch national team coaching staff, if they have decided that he isn't good enough for the dutch squad then it is not really a player man utd are going to be looking at

Thats just the same type of arrogance i would expect from some BPL loving *, but i suppose players like Sutton or Le Tissier weren't good enough seeing as they never played much for their country by your logic, complete and utter *

We know they can spend it but if you look how good forster and wanyama were in europe compared to vvd and they only went for 10 and 12 million.

If you read the guys post it actually makes sense, that If Van Gaal uses his contacts with the Dutch national team who do not see VVD as good enough for it then it follows that he would not be looking at VVD for Man U.

It doesn't mean that he's not but just that its unlikely that Van Gaal will favour him.

Aye it makes sense but he's basically backing up that as fact, which it isn't hence my argument that because a certain player isn't representing his country doesn't mean he isn't good enough, its sheer football * snobbery

van Gaal signed Braafheid for Bayern Munich when he was 26 and uncapped.
