No danger he'll be going to Norwich. He'll have better teams than them in for him.

But the point is...look how it turned out for Hooper. Virginia shouldn't be going to a club who could well be fighting relegation

You have just rhymed off Norwich's Championship side.

They're in the Premiership now hence the reason they will be in the market for players of VanDijk's price and quality.

Doubt they'll replace the full team though.

They brought in 10 players in 2011 when they came up and 9 the following season. The majority of which first team regulars.

Be pushing it to get 10 Premiership class kinda players in the market Norwich will be shopping in, doubt you'll see 9/10 £8m+ signings.

Reckon most of their shopping will be in the Championship with an oddmsigning from abroad.

At least Southampton are going places and have a bit of ambition. Norwich'll forever be a yo-yo club.

And who wants to live in Norfolk, for *'s sake? :smiley-laughing002:

Depends what route Neil goes down but regardless, their starting 11 on the first day won't resemble their starting 11 for the majority of last season!

Van Dijk is a far, far better footballer than Hooper.

Probably but the quality won't be too much different. I suspect a lot of their squad from last season will feature tnext season though.

It's a short career and money isn't everything. At 24, if Virgil's serious about making it to the very top, his next move is crucial. Somewhere like Southampton, Spurs or Everton this summer, one of the top English sides (Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, City, Liverpool) in 2 years (at 26) and finally Barça, Real or Bayern 2 years later in his prime (28). A move to Norwich would be a step backwards and he's smart enough to know it.
